Remembering my Lola...

I remember when my Lola was still alive and just had an operation, it was difficult for her to walk again. There were times when she would fall that we wanted to purchase emergency alert systems for her to use. This is to just inform her care giver that she fell. It would also prevent her from falling too. It was the most critical days for our family so having this kind of system would be a big help. All of us can't watch her the whole day during that time because we all need to work and go on with our lives. They didn't hire a nurse anymore since they couldn't afford it. Because of her falls, she was in and out of the hospital and had been wearing a medical bracelet at least every 3 months.

It was different back then. Everything was so basic. Now, there are actually systems that you can just install at home. You will feel like you are as safe. I'm not sure if these systems are expensive but knowing the use and the ease that it will bring to the family, I'm sure it will serve as an investment.

My Lola didn't have a difficult time during her last few days and now that she is gone, we know that she is resting and now together with her husband who passed away months before her. As for my Dad and the rest of the family, they have moved on and finally accepted the fact that my Lola is gone. It took years, yes, but at least everybody has moved on and has started all over again. We missed both my Lolo and Lola but knowing that they are in good hands, make us happy for them too.
