We Fell in Love with Sugar Palm Resort

Who wouldn't? Just look at what we first saw as soon as we arrived at Sugar Palm Resort.

It looks heavenly, right? Look at our rooms!

With a fully setup computer, my brother didn't want to go out of the room anymore. LOL!

Sugar Palm Resort is small compared to Hotel Ibis Patong but it has a lot of charm that we didn't see in Hotel Ibis. I think what also made it more special is the location which is just a 5-minute walk (or even less) to the beach!

Transferred to Kata Beach on our 3rd Day in Phuket

After staying in Patong Beach for 2 nights, we transferred to Kata Beach to see what's in store for us! Kata Beach is 30 minutes away from Patong Beach so we had a long travel via a van. When we saw Kata Beach, we immediately felt how different Kata is from Patong. It was way better! Well, for me, that is!

It was more laid back, relaxed and nice for families with kids. I fell in love with Kata Beach the moment I saw the place.

We had lunch as soon as were settled.

Lunch was good at Sugar Palm Restaurant, this is the resort where we will be staying in the next 3 days and 2 nights.

Everyone was giddy after we saw Sugar Palm Resort. This resort sure has a lot to offer us.

Explored the Ever Vibrant Bangla Road on our 2nd Night in Phuket

Well, with 2 kids in tow after a long day, we haven't really explored Bangla Road. We just passed by on our way back to our hotel. But still, we were able to see how vibrant Bangla Road in Patong Beach was! It was amazing!

This one caught my eye...

Husband Day Care Center. Would you leave your husbands here!? Me, I don't think so! LOL!

Bangla Road is the most popular road in Phuket! Simply because of the bars, restaurants and the parties happening in this place. It's a must see in Phuket but remember, this place is only for adults! (*wink*)

We ♥ Hotel Ibis Patong!

Hotel Ibis, Patong is a budget hotel, but we didn't notice it. Except for the fact that nobody assisted my sister to bring our luggages to our room, everything was great, from the airy and nice lobby, clean rooms to the inviting pool, we all loved Hotel Ibis Patong.

The rooms were small but the bed was huge and I like the veranda that we would open every morning. The lobby and the hallway weren't air conditioned but we didn't mind because air was flowing nicely.

The pool compensated everything!

Don't you love the pool too? I asked the maintenance guy about the maintenance of their nice pool. He said that they really invest in the pool maintenance. They have good equipment to use in cleaning their pools. They also get discount pool parts if it goes on sale. Pool parts I've read are a bit expensive, good thing the Pool Supply Unlimited go on sale every now and then.

I also love the location of Hotel Ibis, Patong. It is just a 10-minute walk to the beach and Bangla Road. Everything is so convenient. Restaurants and Convenient stores are very near the hotel.

For the food, I cannot comment because we didn't try the food at the hotel. But, I would highly recommend it if you plan to stay in Patong Beach, Phuket.

Took the Day Tour at the Famous Phi-Phi Island on our 2nd Day in Phuket

While my sister and I were planning our itinerary in Phuket, we found out that there were a lot of things that you do and explore there. But since we wanted it to be a relax trip as much as possible, we decided to avail only 1 tour and explore Patong Beach more.

Our Final Choice: Phi-phi Islands for the day!

A van fetched us as early as 8AM. It was really hard to wake up that early but since we knew that there were a lot of beautiful things in store for us, we made sure that we woke up on time. And also, we didn't want to be left behind by our driver. LOL!

After an hour travel time, we arrived finally at the dock. You see, Phuket is a huge town so traveling time usually takes more than an hour. This is not considering the traffic.

We immediately boarded the boat and finally the tour has officially started.

I felt that the boat was full, but it seems like it was not, because everyone was outside trying to get a tan!

But I'm sure you won't be surprised if we chose the seats inside to avoid Mr. Sun. Haha!

Our first stop was at Phi phi Don for snorkeling and picture taking.

I was so glad the water wasn't too cold!

Our next stop, finally, lunch buffet at the Phiphi Island.

After lunch we had a couple of minutes to swim. This is probably the kids' highlight of the tour. They had a grand time.

Time flew by so quickly, we were surprise that it was time to go back to the boat. Then we arrived at the dock, then went to our van which brought us back to the hotel.

It was a beautiful day for all of us!

Our First Agenda in Phuket: Checked Out Patong Beach!

WE arrived in Phuket at around 7PM and we took the shuttle bus (..for FREE! Because during December they have a promo for us Filipinos) and took us another hour to arrive in Patong Beach. We had dinner after we checked in at Hotel Ibis then went back to the room to rest.

So, on our first day, we immediately hit the beach because the kids were soo excited to swim!

I found Patong Beach a bit crowded. There was no spot to just lay your sarong and lie down for a few hours. We had to RENT a chair, which costs around 100 BAHT which was PHP200.00! I know, too expensive!

I didn't swim on the first day but the kids and Hubby did (of course!). And even if the water was really cold, they didn't mind. They liked it so much!

Patong Beach is so similar to other beaches we tried, the difference is the crowd. What I like though with Patong Beach is that there are a lot of vendors selling food like spring rolls, nuts, drinks and fruits. So while Hubby and the kids were swimming, I was enjoying Thai pica-pica! I ♥ it!

After an hour or so, the kids were already convincing us to go back to the hotel to swim in the pool. We finally agreed and did a long walk passing by Bangla Road. It was still quiet and not yet crowded. We bought snacks (again!) grilled corn which was oh so sweet!

And, I would say, this is the LIFE!

There was a time when Hubby had a deal with my Aunt to purchase a couple of computers for her internet cafe. He didn't have problems purchasing the machines but he had challenges when it was time to ship the items. You see, it wasn't only 1 computer but I think he bought 20 computers for my Aunt's cafe. The thing is, he had to make sure that these were all safe. Imagine monitors, CPU's and more all in one box and will be shipped, how can he make sure that these are all safe? That was his dilemma. After a few weeks, he was able to solve his dilemmas. He purchased bubble wraps for the computer parts, made sure that the box was thick enough to survive the 3-day journey and he made sure that the shipping company takes care of the 12 boxes. Yes, Hubby ended up packing 12 boxes!

Hubby was able to survive the challenge but if he discovered Shipsmart earlier, he wouldn't have these dilemmas in the first place. I remember a few years ago when we moved from one place to another. I moved workplace to Hubby and moved too. And for that year, we moved I think 4 times! It was exhausting, I tell you. And Ship Smart would have been able to help us get through those days. I just have to find out if they provide services here in Manila. If they are, I'm definitely getting them IF ever we will move to our dream home. (*wink*)

Our Flight to Phuket, Thailand

After a super quick shopping at Singapore (take note: I only had less than 2 hours to explore H&M and less than an hour to explore Cotton ON), off we went to the Changi Budget Terminal for our flight to Phuket.

It wasn't a long wait, after we ate snacks, we were surprised that we were already boarding at 6PM!

It wasn't a long flight either, my kids didn't even bother to sleep. You see, during long flights they would usually sleep because they were too tired. This time, they were wide awake!

I guess they were excited to see Phuket.

We arrived Phuket on time and went straight to Hotel Ibis, Patong. After we left our luggages, we went to the first restaurant that we saw and had our late dinner.

We were all so excited on what Phuket has to offer!

Be Organized: My New Goal for 2012.

Aside from being healthy and to increase my exercise, I've added another goal for this year, 2012, which is to get organized from my house to my stuff at work to my spendings and budget to everything in my life.

I've started decluttering my closets. I had progress but it would be nice if I get those storage cabinets at aplus warehouse.

They just look so clean and of course organized. At the end of the year, my closet should look like the above photo.

I realized that organizing my stuff is a bit pricey. I had to buy those cabinet organizers, bag organizer and more. But I believe that this is an investment. Those storage cabinets from aplus warehouse may be a little bit expensive but I believe that it will last for a lifetime. And this is all for my peace of mind and clutter free environment.

Dreaming of Relaxing and Having Coffee Right Now

I'm swamped with work right now but I can't help but dream that I'm on vacation and having this!

A really good coffee. It's been weeks since I had this coffee from Seattle's Best. This plus a box of cigars would be a perfect combination, while I'm sitting in front of a fireplace in a very cold place. I can open a bottle of wine, nimble on some cheese, grapes and nuts.

Awwww. How I wish it's not just a dream. How I wish I'm really in this place as of the moment. But, I can't do anything about it (for now) but to go back to reality. Who knows, one weekend, I might really be able to pull this off!?

Our Very Own Pool...

...for a few days that is!

It was at Amorita Resort in Bohol when we first consider a pool for our house. Well, it was just a dream actually since we don't even have a space in our current house. But who knows, when we transfer to our dream home, we will be able to reach that goal someday.

But for now, we will consider the pros and cons of having our own pool. One is the maintenance. I know it takes a lot of budget to have a facility like the pool cleaning az. The pool needs to be cleaned every what, once or twice a month? That would be budget and time consuming. I came across a company that offers these type of services which is called African Suns. It looks like they can do everything when it comes to pool maintenance and repair. But for now they are offering these services only in Phoenix, AZ.

Based on their credentials and the services that they offered before, I can see that their clients are happy with them. I just hope that when our dream house is built, they would finally offer services in country.

Our 2011 Christmas Eve.

Almost one month after Christmas and I'm finally ready to post our Christmas Eve photos. Better late than never right!? (*grin*)

Honestly, I thought that our January 2012 would be relaxed and our weekends would be spent at home. But I was wrong. Things suddenly came up. We attended parties here and there. I got sick. Hubby got sick. And our baby girl was hospitalized. Now that we're back to our routine, I promise I will blog more especially our most recent vacation which was from Singapore and Phuket.

So, how was our Christmas Eve? It was the most memorable for us! We heard mass before dinner with my in-laws. We then had our photos taken with my in laws' beautiful Christmas tree.

After that, we had dinner.

We had a couple of activities after dinner and a game where BIL prepared for us. Thanks Kuya!

Time flew by so fast! We were surprised that it was time for noche buena!

And then after noche buena, it was time to open the gifts! The kids of course had a grand time!

Thanks again Lolo & Lola, Titos and Titas for the gifts. They all love it! (*grin*)

Loving Fely J's Dilicious Rice

It's been months since I had Fely J's dilicious rice but I still can't get over it.

The mix of garlic rice and crispy dilis is unforgettable! I also like the rest of the food we ordered like broccoli, steamed fish, and boneless crispy pata. Yummy! How I wish we could go back at Fely J's one of these days.

7th Christmas Party for 2011: Highschool Friends

Our 7th Christmas party was spent with my highschool friends.

We would usually meet once or twice a year. This time, it was more special because my friend Terry went home from the US.

We had our usual exchange gifts, lunch and snacks and then never-ending chikahan.

Stopping Over Singapore for our Holiday Trip

As our yearly tradition in my family, we went out of the country again to celebrate the Holidays. We decided to go to Phuket. But first, we dropped by Singapore to fetch my brother.

We stayed at Orchard Parade Hotel for a night. And my first agenda, checked out H&M and cotton on! I only had less than 2 hours to shop since we needed to prepare for our flight to Phuket. But with those 2 hours, I was able to purchase pair of shoes, coat, inner tops and scarves.

I was able to try the ice cream sandwich and I had shawarma for lunch. Yummy!

Then, off we went to the airport for our 6PM flight to Phuket.

6th Christmas Party for 2011: Office Christmsa Party at Strumm's

Our last day of work for the year was last December 20. Then we had our office Christmas party the next day - December 21, 2011 at Strumm's, Jupiter, Makati.

The party started at 5PM. We had a couple of parlor games. There were a lot of prizes given away through the raffle. And then there was dancing after a sumptuous dinner. It was a fun party! Especially to those who won the minor and major prizes. (*grin*)

Yes, this early, I'm missing Papa John's pizza, pasta, and chicken wings!

Probably because I'm missing the holidays already.

I realized that I ate a LOT during the holidays so I better stop this and start living healthy again. That was my New Year's resolution last year and so far, I was able to achieved it. So I'm doing it again this year and hopefully in the next couple of years too.

I can still clearly remember were we spent the first day of 2011!

Yes, we were in Singapore and we checked in at Peninsula Excelsior to witness the fireworks. It was magical. We were all so tired during that time but the fireworks made us giddy.

2011 was a great year for us! So, I'm claiming that 2012 will be a greater year. Yes, I'm claiming it! You should too!

How to Stay on a Diet during the Holidays?

I actually don't know how to answer that question. If you noticed, I've been eating a lot of sweets. I have a valid excuse you see, it's the holidays! (*grin*)

But I have another reason why I'm confident because I discovered arizona weight loss recently. It looks really interesting. There are a lot of items that will be provided such as the following:

- HCG Diet manual this is an electronic manual that contains all guidelines and instructions for the diet.

- A 4-6 week maintenance diet that is a detailed weekly instructions to keep the weight off

- A Spreadsheet so that you have a way to keep track of and plan your daily meals. I got excited because this is emailed as an electronic copy.

- Recipe books which includes over 400 recipes. This is also emailed as an electronic copy.

- Follow ups will be scheduled weekly with Dr. Bird which also includes vitamin/fat burner B12/MIC shots.

- Direct email correspondence with Dr. Bird throughout the entire dieting proces

- All HCG supplies (hormone, needles, etc.)

These are the items that are needed to go on a diet. And the Arizona Weight Loss Program is providing everything for you. I've read about good reviews about this program so now, I'm confident that I can eat whatever I like and still feel good about myself. After all, we are on holidays and it is a perfect reason to binge. (*grin*)

Baileys Truffles

But, I would say this one is to die for. Unfortunately, I had to hit the treadmill after eating a piece, but it was DEFINITELY worth it!

Happy Lemon

Unfortunately, Happy Lemon didn't make my tummy happy when I ordered their Cocoa with Rocksalt and Cheese a couple of weeks ago. I liked their roasted milk tea though, when I ordered it a couple of months ago. So it means only one thing - I should stick to milk tea from now on!

On Vacation Mode

Yup, that's what I'm feeling right now. Because I'm really on vacation. After our office Christmas party last December 21 (which I will be posting soon), we were on vacation ever since that party. I love, love it! I will post more about our holidays but for now, I'm looking for a couple of bus rentals from AllAboardAmerica.com. My Mom is planning to go on a road trip soon and she was hoping if I could help her find the perfect transportation for her. This company has been providing wonderful services through charter bus tours and travel experiences all over America. Something that Mom needs. They've been offering southwest bus tours with more than 5,000,000 miles yearly and for more than 75 years already. This company is amazing! I can't believe that it's even older than me. My Mom wanted to make sure that she deals with a stable company so I'm definitely recommending this to her!

My Mom loves to travel and I guess I got that from her. I can say that my whole family got that from her. We all love to go out especially now that it's the holidays. So, I better go now and will continue to go on a vacation mode. Because time is flying by so fast and before I know it, I'm going back to work.

5th Christmas Party for 2011: YFC Friends in Tagaytay

Serenitea's Holiday Drink

It's been months since I last had milk tea. I missed it terribly. So earlier, we got free time and went to Serenitea to purchase my favorite Okinawa Milk Tea. And look what I got!

It's so nice, right? They changed their caps into a holiday theme. I love, love it!

As for my milk tea, I'm definitely getting another drink in the next few days!

4th Christmas Party: School Party

We felt really fortunate for being able to watch our little girl's Christmas presentation last week.

After the presentation, we joined her and her classmates together with other parents for salu-salo in her classroom. Our little girl and her classmates all had a blast! They went happy with so many loots from their classmates.

3rd Christmas Party for 2011: CFC Household

Last December 9, 2011, we met with the CFC household to celebrate Christmas with our families.

We had dinner first. Each family brought food so we had asian salad, pansit, hotdogs, barbecue, and 2 types of yummy cakes - cheesecake and chocolate sansrival. It was a sumptuous dinner! Right after dinner we started the kids' exchange gift. The girls love their loots!

It was defnitely a FUN Christmas party! ♥♥♥

Dreaming of a US Vacation

I have a couple of friends who are currently in the US right now and it made me want to have a US vacation too. I wonder how it feels to be in the States during the Winter season. I've been to the US yes, but I was only there from Spring to Fall. I totally missed winter. It's not that I love the cold. I hate cold actually but having a "white Christmas" is part of any Filipino wish list.

When I think about it now, I probably would still go to a state where it's not too cold. Like Orlando Florida where my parents and I enjoyed Disneyland. I remember there were a couple of nice orlando hotels that you can rent for a long stay. Yes, I want a longer stay compared to our 4 days and 3 night stay in Orlando. Especially if we bring the kids, it would be worth it to stay longer.

Well, as of now, it's still a DREAM. A part of my wish list. But who knows, in 5 to 7 years we might be able to do that. Spend a white Christmas with my Mom.

2nd Christmas Party for 2011: College Friends

For our 2nd Christmas Party for 2011, we went all the way to San Pedro Laguna to meet up with Hubby's College friends.

We were surprised that the traffic wasn't too bad at all. We left Manila around 6PM and arrived Laguna past 7PM.

The food was greeeat, thanks to Jia for preparing!

As always, we had a great time with our friends. See you again next year!

1st Christmas Party for 2011: Twitterrafia at Shakey's El Pueblo

Just like last year, my friends from Twitterafia and I decided to have our Christmas party early. This year we had our Christmas party last November 27, 2011, the last Sunday of the month.

We had it at Shakey's El Pueblo. As always, it was a FUN party!

As for our activities, aside from the games from Shakey's, we had the kids' exchange gifts and the Daddies played the white elephant game.

The kids loved their loots! Alex got the barbie jewelry box from Bianca of Jody while Andie got My Little Pony set from Dom of Peachy. Thank you guys!

This is our second year already and looking forward to more Christmas parties with the Twitterrafia!

Our First Night Out at Opus

Thanks to our friend who works in Hennessy, we were able to get free tickets to their special event at Opus last month.

We partied all night, drank as much Hennessy as we wanted and ate those yummy mini burgers, mushroom and more. Boy, we enjoyed it so much!

It's been a while since Hubby and I did this. And I'm so glad we did.

Opus is located at the 2/F, Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila.

Attended Two Baptisms Last Weekend

Last weekend (Dec 10 and 11), we were invited to attend a baptism. We were so thankful that both of the baptisms didn't fall on the same day!

December 10, 2011: First baptism was at the Christ the King Parish.

Reception followed at Kidzville, Podium. This place is actually new. I've been waiting for a play area to open in Podium, finally Kidzville is now open! Kids can play there while Moms and Dads shop. Perfect!

They have an area where Mommies can have a quick foot spa while your kids are playing. Kids can also have a foot spa here.

When it was time to go home, the kids were having fun that they didn't want to go home. So we promised to go back again next time.

December 11, 2011: The second baptism we attended was at Grace Park Parish. It was the baptism of the baby girl of Hubby's childhood friend.

Reception followed at their home. We had a sumptuous lunch plus the lechon. I ate a whole lot that I needed to hit off the treadmill after.

It was a fun weekend and I'm so glad we were able to spend it with our good friends.

My Unforgettable Massage at Shui Hilot Spa

Hubby and I went to Shui Hilot Spa a couple of weeks ago for a much needed massage.

It's been a while since we had our massage and we were so happy we did. What I love about our massage is that it's the ancient art of Filipino massage dating back to the first Philippine civilization 500 years ago. Yes, it was that "old" and traditional which we both loved it so much. It's a must try!

The Xmen First Class

We had a lot of free time yesterday and since my little girl is done with her exams, we decided to watch Xmen, First Class in DVD.

It was definitely a nice movie. Surprisingly, the little girls enjoyed watching too. Too bad we didn't watch it in the movie house. Here are more details of the movie:

Finally tried Toast Box in Manila

I honestly fell in love with Toastbox in Singapore when we were there last year. So I prayed hard that they open here in Manila. Little did I know that they will open early this year. Yebah! Unfortunately, I didn't have time to visit their first branch in Greenbelt. When I saw their branch in The Fort, I noted that I would visit this branch one of these days.

So one holiday, when Hubby and I went to St. Luke's Global, we decided to finally try Toastbox. WE wanted to try everything! You see, we didn't know when we will have an opportunity again so we ordered a LOT!

Hubby had fried chicken while I had the Hainanese Chicken. We were sooo full after. We didn't have lunch anymore!

How did I find their food? Well, I still miss the thinly sliced kaya toast from Singapore. It wasn't bad though, I would prefer the one in Singapore but, it satisfies your kaya toast craving. Well, for a few days, that is!

How I wish I could re-create the dishes at home though. I better start checking out the Online Colleges that have
culinary classes. This is what you need to check out when you want to learn how to cook great food like this. I will find time and see how it goes.

Army Navy...The Second Time Around

Obviously, we loved Army Navy so much that after almost a month, we went back to have dinner again.

The burgers, fries and iced tea were the give away. The kids were in love with Army Navy too!

Now we're thinking when to go back again. YES, we're officially hooked!

And all I can say is that we ♥ Army Navy and we ♥ to eat!

So I'm checking out a couple of online sites. Who knows, I might be able to pull off a delicious meal like this. I've read that I can get a lot of information on cooking classes. Will have to check out Guide to Online Schools.

Watched The Symphony of Lights and Sounds at the Ayala Triangle Gardens

We were supposed to watch the symphony of lights and sound last week but we ended up eating a late dinner so we didn't make it to the last show at 9PM. Last Wednesday, almost all of us were free so we took the opportunity and went to Ayala Triangle Gardens.

I didn't know what to expect to be honest. I haven't heard about this show until Wednesday. That's why when we saw the show, we were mesmerized, especially the kids.

The Symphony of Lights and Sounds is an impressive display of Christmas lights that blink in harmony with famous Christmas songs. It happens in Ayala Triangle Gardens every year.

It was definitely worth your time. I just would like to warn you to prepare since there are so many people there. Take care of your belongings and make sure that your kids are safe.

It's a Holiday Today!

So, what are your plans for today? I almost forgot about today not having work (and school for kids) so I wasn't able to plan for this holiday.

Maybe this is the best time to look into some classes from online universities that I've been eyeing for months now. I've been wanting to go back to school these past few days.

Or maybe we are meant to stay home and REST.

Our First Dinner at Pino Resto Bar

It has been months since I wanted to try Pino Resto Bar. But this restaurant is always out of our way. That's why when we were in Quezon City a few weeks ago, we decided to check it out!

We ordered their famous iced tea which I found really good, considering that I don't like iced tea that much.

To start off our meal, we had crispy shrimps with salted egg, which the kids really love.

Crispy Shrimps with Salted Egg (P225) made of fresh shrimps fried in a light batter with salted egg and sweet chili vinegar.

We had fish sinigang sa miso and bayabas.

The soup was a little sweet, thanks to the guava. This is probably the only sinigang that I like!

Lastly, we had Kare-kareng bagnet!

Kare-Kareng Bagnet (P245), I've read is Pino's House Specialty. Authentic Ilokano crispy pork belly served with annatto-peanut sauce. No wonder, because it was REALLY GOOD! Now, my tummy's growling again, just by thinking about Pino's yummy food. Argh! We will definitely go back to try their mini tacos and crispy pata stuffed with laing. It sounds gooood!

The Sound of Music

To celebrate our family day two Sundays ago, we watched the Sound of Music at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Prior to this, the girls were so excited about the play. They knew the story because they've seen the movie for several times already. So they looked forward to it everyday. And finally, one Sunday, it was time to watch the Sound of Music! Woot!

We enjoyed the play very much! Especially the Ate who was dancing towards the end of the play. I highly recommend it to those who know the movie very well. It's a must see. And I assure you that your kids will love it too!

Andie's 3rd Birthday Party at Unang Hakbang

We made it our own family tradition that we spend our kids' 3rd birthday as an outreach to give back for all the blessings that we've received. This year, God led us to Unang Hakbang, a foundation that gives out of school kids an opportunity to study.

The place was the perfect place to celebrate Andie's 3rd birthday because those kids deserve a party. For studying well and taking the opportunity for their future.

There were also special guests who came to the party!

The Lolo and Lola, Titos, Titas and the cousins.

The party started at exactly 2:30PM. All 30 kids invited were already there getting excited by the minute.

Finally the clowns are ready!

We started with balloon twisting, then we proceeded to the games.

When the kids saw the prizes we prepared for them, they ALL wanted to join the games. Good, since we have a lot of prizes in store for them.

After the relay game, the longest happy birthday followed, bring me was the next game, then the "look for angry bird stickers".

After these games, the kids were getting tired and the prizes left were not enough for another game anymore so we decided to have Andie blew the candle.

It was a riot for all of us but I really felt the fun. This is the time I realized that ALL of the kids (including Alex and Andie) are having fun!

Now, it was time to EAT! We served spaghetti, chicken, hotdog, ice cream and juice.

Time flew by so fast! Hubby and I didn't even have time to eat! After the snacks, it was time for the magic show and a little acrobatics by the clowns. The kids and even us adults love it!

It was a simple party for Andie but I can see that everyone had so much fun. We were so blessed to have met these kids at the foundation. In a couple of hours, they taught me something I will never forget, they taught me the true meaning of sharing.

Preparing for Andie's Birthday Party

Andie's birthday party was last Saturday so the week before that, we were busy preparing for her simple party at Unang Hakbang foundation. The girls happily helped in fixing the lootbags. They were so excited for the party!

We gave out crayons, notebook, face towel and a couple of candies and then we put these loots in an angry bird envelope/bag.

I found the bags cute! We bought yellow, red and black so they have 3 options to choose from.

Oh Wow. My Baby Andie turns 3 today!

But, I'm still in denial here. Because I can't believe that 3 years has passed since my easy labor at the hospital. I remember I was still working the night before I gave birth, trying to meet a couple of deadlines. When I felt the contractions, I ate a LOT for dinner because I knew that I was about to give birth soon. By 4AM the next day, my OB asked us to go to the hospital already just to check. And true enough, I was in labor!

Dear Andie, you literally brought joy into our lives. You make us laugh most of the time with your funny antics. Your Ate adores you and finds you really funny.

Thank you for that. You may not be a baby anymore, but for me, you will always, always be my Baby Booching.

Breaking Dawn!

Guess what!? Hubby and I saw Breaking Dawn's advance screening last night! WOOT! Thanks to my dear Sister who gave us FREE tickets last night. Oh yes, we got the movie tickets for FREE! Another WOOT!

So after revieweing the little girl for exams, we had an early dinner with the girls and then off we went to the movie house. I was surprised that there were 3 movie houses showing an advance screening of Breaking Dawn. Whoa!

So, how did I find the movie!?

Weeeell, it was just ok. It made me want to read the book again, though. And hopefully when I find time, will read the 4 books again. Who knows, maybe I will find a couple of free time during the Holidays!

Sam and Migo's Birthday Party

One of the highlights of our November is Sam and Migo's birthday party which was last November 5, 2011 at Valle Verde Clubhouse.

The moment we arrived at the clubhouse, we went straight to the mini salon which the girls excitedly tried!

After that, the program started with guess what? A fashion show! Thankfully, the girls were so "game", they walked down the stage!

I was so proud of them! There were also a lot of food carts - starbucks, jimini pizza (yum!), dippin' dots and potato fries.

Right after a few games, it was time for the early dinner. Then the kids were called again to dance with The Jive, which made party even "wilder"!

We all had soooo much fun! Thanks again for inviting us Jacqui and Mike! (*wink*)

I've always wanted to to hike and trek especially Mt. Banahaw in Laguna.

I remember my Grandfather and cousins would climb every Holy Week. I wish I joined them years ago. Now, I don't think I have the energy.

Of course I also need hiking accessories and the right outfit to make the hike or trek as comfortable as possible. I'm getting from CCOutdoorStore.com since they have a whole lot of options to choose from. I hope the transaction would be a breeze though.

As for when would be the hike or trek? Will have to think about it!

Here We Go Again...

Staying Away from Diabetes Pills

As much as I can, I want to stay away from diabetes pills because I don't know what it will do to my system. And now that I've heard about the side effect that you get which is cancer from actos diabetes pill, all the more that I want to avoid it. Diabetes patients who have taken Actos may face an increased risk of developing bladder cancer. Which is scary, so for me, I guess it would be great to stay on the safe side by having a healthy lifestyle, eating a healthy diet, exercise as much as you can and avoid sweets. I'm posting Alex's wishlist (for the MBAPS Christmas Party) here so it would be easier for the little girl's "Mommy" to check again, just in case.

We went to the mall with the kids last Saturday and I suddenly remembered the Christmas party so we went to the toy section and I let the girls choose what they like to receive from the exchange gifts.

Here are the things that she wanted:

First Choice: Barbie Music Box

When she saw this, she was so giddy with excitement! It was like I was buying it for her. So I placed it in her first choice. (*grin*)

Second Choice: Barbie Rolling Art Desk

And the last choice just in case both of the items above are not available...

Third Choice: My First Flat Iron Playset

Loving Cyma All Over Again

The last time I ate at Cyma was last March (I think) with my friend MM. I ate a couple of times that month so for a while, I didn't want to eat there again. But when Hubby and I were at the mall a copule of weeks ago, we decided to try Cyma again!

I'm glad we did!

We just had our usual order of Roka Salata (Fresh arugula, chopped Romaine lettuce, sun dried tomatoes, candied walnuts, served with shaved Parmesan in traditional Greek vinaigrette), Saganaki, and Chicken Kebab.

Hubby and I were so full and happy after. Now, I'm loving Cyma all over again. Can't wait to go back!

Cyma is located at 6/F of Shangri-la Plaza Mall.

JC and Rachel's Wedding

Hubby and I were invited to our nephew's wedding in Clark, Pampanga last Saturday. I was so excited because it would be my first time to attend a wedding there. I've been to Clark yes, but it was a couple of years back, I couldn't even remember how to go there anymore.

I thought it was going to be a very long drive, but we actually arrived Clark at exactly 4PM. We left Manila around 2PM and I thank God that our trip was a breeze!

We went straight to the Church and loved what we saw...

Hubby and I love small Churches/Chapels for weddings that's why we loved this chapel in Clark so much. It was decorated beautifully, simple but very elegant!

We had a couple of minutes to spare so we took photos before the ceremony started at exactly 4:30PM!

After the ceremony, all the guests went straight to Holiday Inn Clark.

After the wedding traditions of cutting of the cake and wine toasting, we had a very sumptuous dinner. We ordered coffee while we enjoyed desserts.

Yum, yum, yum!!! It was definitely a memorable event for the whole family. Congratulations again JC and Rachel! Thanks for inviting us! (*wink*)

Our Yearly Tradition - Visited Two Cemeteries

Even if it was just me and my sister are here in Manila, we still decided to visit the cemetery last week.

We brought snacks and stayed for a few hours to pray and reminisce on the old days. It was nice to see my sister again. The kids were so excited to be with her.

The next day, it was time to visit Hubby's grandparents and relatives. We had a mini reunion and saw a couple of cousins, Aunts, and Uncles. We had a sumptuous lunch! I'm glad we came because the kids were happy to see their second cousins.

There are just occassions that you don't know what to give to your friends and loved ones. One of these is the moment when you want to give to the person you appreciated the most. Someone who did a great deal for you. Of course you want it to be special since you want to show them that you've really appreciated the things that they did for you. That's why it would be a great idea to give you out thank you bouquets like the thank you cookie bouquet. This is a perfect way to give as tokens for saying thank you. The special people who deserve nice stuff from you.

Our Halloween Party for 2011

The Halloween this year (2011) was extra special because we ended it with a Halloween party with our CFC Household last October 28, 2011!

We prepared food for the kids, games & prizes, and lootbags! They all had a grand time at our friend's house. After the games, they all played and just like that, they were everywhere the house! I'm glad we did this. The kids ended up so tired and happy after.

Thinking of Giving Flowers this Christmas?

I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping but there are times that I would forget to list down some of the people that I need to give gifts too. So I'm giving out flowers which I will order online from sites such as http://www.proflowers.com. It's so easy to order, the site is very user friendly too! Discovering sites such as Proflowers.com makes me appreciate the internet more. I can just imagine the tight schedule that we will have come December so ordering online and not visiting a flower shop personally would be the best thing that I can do. Now, I'm excited!

My Family's First Dinner at Marciano's

And I would say, it won't be our last.

My family had a grand time at Marciano's a few weeks ago when we had dinner. The food was good, the service was great and the place was cozy inspite of our kids getting cranky and all (possibly because they were getting hungry after stucked in a traffic for almost 2 hours!). But they enjoyed the food so much especially Hubby who wants to go back to try their steak.

For that particular night we had salad, pasta, pizza, roast chicken and dessert.

We love, love everything and promised that we will back here again one of these days.

Our Korean Dinner at Bulgogi Brothers

When my Dad arrived last month, we made sure we try Bulgogi Brothers since I've been hearing a lot of nice things about this newly opened Korean restaurant in Greenbelt. So one Monday last October, we braved the traffic in Makati and went to Greenbelt for dinner.

It was our first time so we just ordered their best sellers - the Bulogogi Brothers Special, Sogogi Japchae (made with glass noodles, beef, bell pepper and onions seasoned with soy sauce), soup, and wine.

Oh, it was definitely a great dinner for all of us! We will definitely go back and try their other dishes. Hopefully when my Dad is here again and that would be next month!

How do you Manage your Cables at Home?

I'm thankful for the wireless internet that I get to enjoy at home. Seeing no connection needed through those wires is such a breather. But I know that I stil can't get away with those cables especially where our desktop is located. Wires are everywhere and sometimes a site that I don't want to see. Good thing that Hubby (thanks Sweetie!) decided to do a cable management. He bought tubes to hide those annoying wires and installed it. Now, it looks so clean and organized. I sooo loved Hubby more for that! (*wink*)

Alex's 2011 Field Trip

Last Tuesday, I was so excited because it was Ate Alex's field trip! Last year I wasn't able to go with her because it was the Dada's turn. So this year, I went with her. It was tiring yes, but we both had a great time.

Our first stop was the Seri Fantasy Land at the Manila Ocean Park. It was our first time so we really didn't know what to expect. Their first stop at the Seri Fantasy Land was at the play area. They were allowed to play for 15 minutes. Yes, they didn't want to go after their time was up, but what can they do? There were still a lot of activities in store for them!

The 3D movie was the next stop at the Seri Fantasy Land. It was a 3D movie about the dinosaurs. The movie was just ok, the graphics were not that good either but the funny thing is that the girls were screaming althroughout the movie. It was hilarious!

Our second stop after Manila Ocean Park was at the Soundstage, Greenbelt to watch the Seussical Musical Play.

Too bad we were 30minutes late! But the little girl loved it and was even dancing when the play ended.

Our third stop was the Aerospace Museum which I found just ok.

Alex had been to this museum last year and she was excited to go back all because of the ice cream. LOL! So I bought her icedrops while we toured around the hot garden of the museum!

Our fourth stop was the Museo Pambata which I found really interesting. Their concept is that the kids learn while they play. Although I found the kids too young to understand what's inside the Museo, I think the concept of the place is really good. It would be best to check out this place when the kids are a little older.

We went back to Seri Fantansy Land as our last stop, we checked out the Trick Art Museum. What's interesting is that the framed photos would look 3D in your pictures.

We got a couple of photos then it was time to go home.

I'm glad I went with my little girl, who knows, maybe next year, I won't be allowed to go with them to the field trip anymore. Aaaaah, I hope not!

The Little Girls' Quick Playdate last Sunday

After trying to schedule a playdate with the MBAPs' kids, we were finally able to push through our kids' playdate last Sunday. And guess where?

At Funranch, Ortigas! The girls were so excited, look!

Alex was dancing like crazy because of excitement! LOL!

While the kids were having a grand time at the play area, the Mommies of course had a quick chikahan too!

It was definitely a fun day! The kids didn't want to go home YET, so we promised them another playdate hopefully soon!

We had another Yakimix Dinner

Two weeks ago, my relatives from Bukidnon were here to attend a wedding. After the very busy weekend, we all went to dinner at Yakimix, Greenbelt before they went back to our home town.

It was our second time at Yakimix but it still made me feel overwhelmed at the variety of food available. Just like the last time, I ended up eating only the Japanese maki, a couple of beef and pork, and a few strips of vegetables.

The kids were a bit shy to talk to our relatives at first but after warming up, they eventually played with their second cousin.

The food at Yakimix has always been overwhelming. But we always go home full and satisfied. Looking forward to another Yakimix dinner, but not in the near future, I guess. Probably be in the next few months or so!

Our Early Trick or Treat last Saturday

We had a very busy weekend and one of the highlights of our weekend was the kids' early trick or treat at the village.

The girls had been waiting for this "event" for weeks now! Finally, Saturday came!

The program started promptly at 2PM. Before that we had our photos taken at the photo booth, they got lootbags which was full of goodies, then the kids had their hands painted with flowers.

Jollibee was there to entertain the kids and then after the program, off we went trick or treating.

They got more candies and loots And guess who they got to meet?

Darth Vader and the Angry Birds!

It was definitely a fun trick or treat, and it was only our first. More trick or treats next week! (*wink*)
