Friday LO Share

It's Friday once again and it's time to share my most recent LO.

September
Credits here.

This LO is a bit late. I had a hard time scrapping this until I finally decided to use red as my motif since it's my birth month! It was a busy month for us, Hubby and I with my brother went to Bangkok, I had two birthday celebrations, we get to attend a nice and fun Jollibee party, and also it was my Mom and BIL's birthday. I love September and I always look forward to it! :)

Checking the Ads

I'm not sure if I've mentioned before that one of my brothers is working abroad already. So now that he earns more than what he expects, he wants to invest in a condo unit. So, my Mom would usually check the ads for condos for sale. I remember before I used to check the local newspapers every Sunday since this is the time that all the ads are available. I just hope that my Mom would be able to find a good condo for my brother because for me, this is one of the best ways to invest money.

Awards, Awards

Awards kept on coming! I couldn't believe it! Thank you so much to my online/bloggrs friends! I really do appreciate it! It's nice to know that there are people like you who appreciates my blog and what I write here. (*grin*)

I got a Star Blogger Award from Jesse. Thank you so much sis! ;)

I got another friendship award from Kitty! Thanks, thanks to you! :D

Oh, and guess what? Another Beautiful and Sexy Award from Kelly. I'm so flattered! Thanks again Kelly!

And lastly (but definitely not the least) a Be The Blog award from Eds and Jen. Thank you ladies! I appreciate it so much and I'm really flattered. :)

I'm passing this B2B award to...Eds (yes Eds, you deserve it too!) and Joy. ;)

About our Garage

Our garage is one of our main concerns these days since it's been raining for days! You see, not everything is covered by the roof. So half of our garage floors is always wet. Poor car, it gets really wet these days. It's a good thing that we tiled the floor though and placed pebbles around it that we didn't have to worry about anything. There were garage floors out there that were made with concrete. I wonder if it would still last from the strong rains and storms? Anyway, what we do these days is observe and then see if something is leaking and then see what we can do. I just hope the rain would stop! I can't still feel the Christmas season because of this storm.

Dinner at Cafe Provencal

Cafe Provencal is one of the restaurants that I've been wanting to try but it's either we were too tired, we were with Alex, or we just didn't have the budget.

But after a long day last Saturday and after the inspiring conference, Hubby and I decided that we deserve to have a nice dinner to sort of celebrate. :) So we opt to try Cafe Provencal. I've heard a lot of raves with this restaurant although it was a bit expensive.

Before the dinner, we had appetizer. It was free! And all I can say is that the dip was really yummy! I had to ask for more. LOL!

Cafe Provencal

Hubby and i tried the roasted chicken with pasta and veggies on the side for our main course. And then we ordered another pasta.

Cafe Provencal

We didn't know that the servings were big. We were so full that we weren't able to finish everything. The roasted chicken was great! A bit expensive (p585) but it is already good for 2 - 3 persons. The pasta on the other hand was too salty for me. LOL! I don't know maybe I'm so used to my pasta already that is too bland. hehe.

Here is the photo of the place...

Cafe Provencal

Anyway, there are more dishes to try here. We'll definitely go back. But maybe only for special occasions. It is too expensive if we eat there for "wala lang" moments.

Webloyalty

Have you ever heard about webloyalty? Me, not until now. Webloyalty actually generates new revenues for its clients by rewarding customers who make purchases. Isn't that exciting? You get to be rewarded by your purchases! They pride that they make impressive returns for its clients and the unmatched service it offers to their customers. They also help clients increase their revenues while offering its clients' customers a huge range of valuable benefits packages. And today, there are over 2 million subscribers who enjoy savings from their services! I think this is one of the best things that has been created over the internet! I might as well sign up one of these days.

Giddy with Excitement!

...because the P1 Fare is Back!

More on Kerygma Conference and Insight # 1

I've learned about the Kerygma Conference while reading the September/October issue of the Kerygma magazine. At first I wasn't that interested until I read somewhere that they were offering a discount. Only p999 for two! So I grabbed it even if I didn't know then if we have plans for that weekend. I just said, God will fix our schedules.

After a month and a half (how time flies!), we found ourselves in ULTRA. It was early, you see, we had to wake up at 7 AM, considering that we got home late from our early Christmas Party. I even told Hubby that I feel so tired, I don't feel like going anymore. But Hubby insisted. And after that, I didn't entertain such thoughts anymore.

We missed the first day (Friday) so we made sure that we stayed for the whole day on Saturday and Sunday (which ended early around 2pm). Saturday started with a mass by Bishop Bacani. He offered a very nice and inspiring sermon. Hubby and I were wide awake! We didn't even had to buy coffee. Talk # 2 was by Bo Sanchez entitled, "When God is Sleeping in the Storm". It was a great talk! And this time I had my insight # 1.

Your Biggest Problem can be your Biggest Blessing. Ironic isn't it? But yes, you heard it right. Sometimes when we have problems all we think about is we are about to give up, we can't take it anymore, and that no one loves us. But in reality, God is actually doing SOMETHING in our lives far more greater that what we are thinking or planning. I take for example this paid blogging. Recently I haven't had opps to grab and with that, I felt so sad. I know it's just an "extra" income but who knows that we might be needing it in the future? But no, God is actually telling me something here. He wants me to rest and lessen my time online. He has a purpose. He wants me to spend more time with my family and He wants me to love myself more by sleeping more and resting more. My Problem of not having paid posts was actually a blessing since I now able to sleep more! :D

He really indeed works in mysterious ways. Sometimes we question Him why things happen in our lives. But, for me, if that time comes, I would always think of what Bo Sanchez's said last Saturday - Your Problem can be your Biggest Blessing.

Three-in-One Celebration

I'm talking about our early Christmas Party, Despedida and Baby Shower rolled into one last Friday with our Couples for Christ (CFC) household. Another member of the household is giving birth on February but they are leaving for the US on the first week of January so we had their Despedida and Baby Shower early. Since another member is giving birth next week (I think!) so we had our Christmas party a few weeks early too.

We had a blast as usual. Food was overflowing! We draw lots on what to bring and I was so lucky that I got dessert the easiest! LOL! Anyway, here is our menu for that night.

  • Taco Salad - Oh, I love it! I got the recipe and might serve it in one of our parties here at home.

    taco salad

  • California Maki - Very similar to what we ordered at Tok-Yu Sushi Bar a couple of weeks ago. I love it too!

    img_0147

  • Mashed Potato - Perfect for the Roast Beef

  • Roast Beef - Our friend ordered from Conti's. If it's from Conti's you'll never go wrong. It was a hit!

    img_0146

  • Chicken Empanada - also from Conti's. It was yummy!

  • Fish with Parmesan - also from Conti's. The first (and only) fish dish that I really love. Usually I don't like to order a fish dish. And this is one, my friend got for p1,000 which is already good for 12 - 15 pax.

  • Spaghetti - made by our friend. It was a hit too!

  • Estrels' Caramel Cake - Courtesy of me and Hubby. :) One of my fave dessert. I just ordered it three days ago, then we picked it up last Friday before the party. I loooove it!

    estrels

  • Capuccino and lots of booze ;) - The Cappuccino was awesome! It went well with the caramel cake. For the guys, they had a beer from China. The ladies drank the new product from Bailey's (Bailey's with Mint). It was yummy!

    img_0153

After dinner we gave our our gifts for the Baby shower of Mr. and Mrs F. Our friends will be having a boy on February. I had a great time shopping for a boy. :) I think I had enough of pink stuff already. hehehe!

img_0168

img_0175
Oh boy, I can't just take a decent picture of the guys!

img_0156
with Two preggies on the way, who's next!?

After the shower, it was videoke time for the boys and chika time for the ladies. Although we had to end early (around 12 midnight) because most of us need to leave early the next day.

We will surely going to miss Mr. and Mrs F. We just pray for more blessings and that God will lead you to where you want to be. Our prayers and love for the new baby boy. And we hope that we would always keep in touch. ;)

Another Question Tag

..from Annette. Thanks girl! Her question is:

Who was your very first guest on your site?

My, I can't remember exactly. I think it was my friend Pef. I remember I did my first few posts at my friendster blog then I transferred everything to blogspot. He was the first to comment on my very first post and encouraged me to blog more. :)

I'm Back and Kickin'

Not literally though. Hubby and I are dead tired. But our weekend was a blast. Period.

I haven't felt this inner peace for a long time. We may be sooo tired physically but our minds and souls were definitely refreshed!

What am I talking about here? As I've mentioned here, Hubby and I attended a conference over the weekend. It was supposed to be for Friday to Sunday but we only had time from Saturday to Sunday. But it's ok because we still learned a lot and it was all worth it!

This conference is called the Kerygma Conference of Bo Sanchez. It was a three-day conference full of talks, sharing, worships, prayer, and fun! All in all we were able to listen to 7 full talks with the best preachers ever! (First talk was held last Friday)

What I'll do is post one by one the insights that I've learned from that conference. It was so nice that I just want to share it here with you. We can't help but feel blessed to be able to attend this wonderful conference.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Monday is a couple of hours from now which means that I have to work again, but it's OK! Because I know that I'm blessed and that I'm inspired and happy. Because I know that God loves ME! And you know, God loves you too. (*smile*)

Insurance is our Security

When I started working right after I graduated, I was offered with different term life insurance quotes by a bunch of insurance agents. During that time, I wasn't really interested. You see, I was single, just started working and having the time of my life! I did all the shopping and traveling back then and I didn't care if I had insurance or not. But now I was thinking that if I started getting at least one insurance for myself, which was 8 years ago, I could have been relaxing now and enjoying the fruits of my hard work. But it's ok, it's not too late. I can still get one and in a certain number of years, I will still be able to enjoy it and even Hubby and Alex too.

Blogging at 2 AM!?

Yes, I'm still awake! And blogging at 2 am!! I can't believe it either! But, I just have to, since I won't have the time to blog anymore for the rest of the weekend because Hubby and I will be attending a conference until Sunday. So I just had to finish one opp.

We just came from a wonderful and nice (early) Christmas party with our CFC household so I have more stories coming up. But need to sleep first since we still need to wake up very early tomorrow.

So, have to go and promise that I will be back with lots of stories and hopefully good photos from our good old Canon Powershot Digicam (since our current Olympus Digicam that is supposedly "water-proof" is now at the service center AGAIN for the nth time! Hmph! I just hate it!)

Have a great weekend everyone! (*wink*)

Taps for our Bathroom

I was shopping online earlier when I came across different kinds of Taps for bathrooms. There is actually a company over the internet that is called Taps4less.com that offers stuff for bathrooms, showers, electric showers, taps, bathroom accessories, bathroom suites, bathroom furniture, bathroom cabinets, baths, bath tubs, shower enclosures, shower valve etc.

While I was browsing over the website I realized that what interest me most are the accessories that we need for our bathroom. Currently what we do is we just put our toiletries beside the window which goes to show that we need to buy something like Amber Wirework's shower tidy. Gessa Caddy is also a nice choice but I will have to find something where I can hang it to. My third option or priority would be a mirror that is similar to Amber Traditional's extendable mirror. It will not only make our sink nice but it will also be very useful especially at times that I need to put on my make-up. Well, I think these accessories are necessities, so what I will do is prioritize each and then come up with a decision which one to buy first.

Friday LO Share

I'm going to make a sort of a "tradition" here in my blog. I will try to make an LO every week then post it every Friday and I'm going to call it Friday LO Share! :) I just have to do it so I'll be forced to make my creative juices come out. LOL! So, here's my first take on my Friday LO Share for this week...

Bonding with Cousins Makes the Day Just Right!

Bonding with Cousins
Credits here.

Photos were taken during our family day at the in-laws. These are Alex's cousins and she would always have a blast when she's with them. After all, they are family. :)

The List

What I do for a living is that I call a number of people from another country and try to setup an appointment with them for a demonstration of the product that we are selling. In this, we are totally dependent on what we usually call the Telemarketing Lists. Without these, we won't be able to perform our job well. There is one company, Martin Worldwide, that has built a reputation of offering innovative mailing list, telemarketing lists and fax lists to small business and Fortune 1000 clients. They actually provide a variety of cost-effective services to ensure success in its clients’ direct marketing efforts. Contacting them is a good way to start especially if your business is into telemarketing or you offer direct marketing of products.

I'm a Sponge Bob Square Pants

Put your character in the subject line and forward to your friends and back to the person that sent this to you.

Very interesting to see 'who' your friends are!

(10-16 points) You are Garfield :
You are very comfortable, easy going, and you definitely know how to
have fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. You always know what
you are doing and you are always in control of your life. Others may
not see things as you do, but that doesn't mean that you always have to do what is right. Try to remember, your happy spirit may hurt you or others.

(17-23 points) You are Snoopy:
You are fun, you are very cool and popular. You always know what's i n
and you are never are out of style You are good at knowing how to
satisfy everyone else. You have probably disappeared for a few days
more than once but you always come home with the family values that you learned Being married and having children are important to you, but
only after you have had your share of fun times

(24-28 points) You are Elmo:
You have lots of friends and you are also popular, always willing to
give advice and help out a person in need. You are very optimistic and
you always see the bright side of things. Some good advice: try not to
be too much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause many conflicts in
your life.

(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob Square Pants:
You are the classic person that everyone loves. You are the best friend
that anyone could ever have and never wants to lose. You never cause
harm to anyone and they would never not understand your feelings. Life
is a journey, it's funny and calm for the most part. Stay away from
traitors and jealous people, and you will be stress free.

(36-43 points) You are Charlie Brown:
You are tender, you fall in love quickly but you are also very serious
about all relationships. You are a family person. You call your Mom
every Sunday. You have many friends and may occasionally forget a few
Birthdays. Don't let your passion confuse you with reality.

(44-50 points) You are Dexter:
You are smart and definitely a thinker... Every situation is fronted
with a plan. You have a brilliant mind. You demonstrate very strong
family principles. You maintain a stable routine but never ignore a bad
situation when it comes. Try to do less over thinking every once in a
while to spice things up a bit with spontaneity!

Anyone wants to snag this!? :)

World Series Tickets Anyone?

If you are a sports enthusiast, you must be raving for world series tickets right now. I've read somewhere that the 2007 the Boston Red Sox stunned a hot Colorado Rockies team and took home the World Series title. So this coming 2008 each MLB team looks to race toward winning the World Series. But the thing here is that only one team will win it all. I wonder which team will bring home a World Series title? If I were in the area, I wouldn't miss this chance of a lifetime. Tickets.com is here to provide tickets for the world’s largest selection of premium seating to sold-out events. They are currently the Internet’s best source for World Series tickets. Everything is just perfect, world series tickets, perfect seats I presume, the only thing that I need is a plane ticket!

The Questions Tag...

...from Eds.

1. When did you start blogging and why?

I started blogging July 2006 same time I resigned in my previous job. I was inspired by some Food Blogs that I wanted to be a food critic too! But since Hubby and I didn't get to go out often anymore (but I still love to eat!) and since I decided to join paid blogging, the purpose of my blogging now has changed. :)

2. What do you address your spouse as endearment and why?

We call each other "sweetie". We just call each other that ever since we went out dating up to now. If Alex is present, I would call him "Daddy", he would call me "Mama".

3. Who's Blog do you admire most & why?

I love all the blogs in my list. I try to visit them everyday or every other day if I have the time. These blogs are inspiring and I learn a lot from them everyday. :)

Thanks for the tag sis! Sorry this took so long!

Too Early to Shop?

Nope! I shopped already, for myself that is! LOL! I got a $1 page kit from Little Dreamer Designs.

It's more of a grungy look. I don't have a photo that would match for this yet but will definitely look for one. If you're interested, check out the product here. Hurry, it's only $1 for today!!!

Hard to Find

Oh yes, when I was pregnant I had a hard time finding a plus size lingerie. One of my friends even ordered some in the US because her size was not available here. You see, it's not only hard to find the plus sizes but also hard to find comfortable lingeries that would work for pregnant women. It's a good thing there is already Lingerie Diva where you can order these lingeries. And they are not only for pregnant women of course, they offer many more such as sexy lingeries, clothes, chemises, and corsets which is very hard to find here.

Shopping Time!

Well, I've finally decided on getting something for my MIL here for Christmas. I've thought about it for a while, and since she loved the bag that we gave her for her birthday, Hubby and I decided to give her another one. But this one is different. She can use it for parties unlike the first bag where she can use it for traveling. Check this out, the "Baby Beyonce Bag" in bronze. What do you think?

Photo from http://allinabag.multiply.com/

We will deposit payment later then I will get the bag probably tomorrow or next day through mail. Talk about early shopping! :D

Now, for my next list...Alex. Hubby and I decided to give her something that she doesn't have yet. Since she has a lot of stuffed toys, dolls, clothes, then we decided to give her this...

Photo from http://www.intexcorp.com/

I really hope she'll like it. Since it's not yet summer, we will put balls in it so she could play indoors. I just hope that it's still available because the last time we went there, they only had 1 left. :(

Ok, the next on my list of course is Hubby! We agreed to give each other wish lists so we make sure that we get what we really want and like. LOL! I think he wants a PSP. When we found out that you can also watch videos using PSP he instantly fell in love with it since Alex would appreciate it too.

Photos from http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/

Since a little expensive for my budget, I'll try to inquire if I could use my card and avail of that 0% interest thing. Hehe! ;)

For my FIL, we were thinking of giving him this...

Photo from http://www.amazon.com/

He loves jazz and loves listening to music, so he might like this (I hope!).

So far these are the things that I needed to buy. Will do more research for my brothers, sister, and brother-in-law and will get back on that.

Aaaaah, I feel so Refreshed!

I promised that I will be posting how my day went yesterday. It was a special day for me (nope, no special occasion) because I finally had the time and courage to have my facial. LOL! I've been wanting to have it for months already! Anyway, my list here says I will be doing a lot of things. But I've finished everything! Wuhoo!

  • work and blog about our weekend and answer some tags (maybe this one will do tomorrow or so

  • Was finally able to do some tags (don't worry friends, I'll do the rest of the tags later this week, I promise!). I was able to blog about our weekend too.

  • will try to do another LO

  • Yes, I started making one, but wasn't able to finish it. Will finish it later and will probably post it later this week.

  • facial

  • Oh, it was wonderful! I went to the mall after Hubby's work around 530PM. Drove myself there and it reminded me again to have my parking lessons with Hubby soon. I badly need one! Anyway, I was so excited when I got to the mall. I had so many things to do there. I bought food first and was eating while on my way to Holistic Circle. I got even more excited when I learned that they had promos for the Christmas Season. I got my facial (with all the scrubbing, masks, pricking) for only p300. Not bad, right? After the Facial, I bought food again. I had pizza and hot chocolate for dinner. Yeah, it was not a good combination. LOL! But I just wanted to eat both at that time. And I was in hurry (to do the shopping!) so I just grabbed the pizza then ordered the hot chocolate then ate it there. :D

  • shopping for me and window shopping for Alex's Christmas dress

  • After my "quick" dinner I started my window shopping for Alex's Christmas dress. I wanted to buy a nice dress for her that she can wear for the Christmas mass. It doesn't need to be red but I just want it to be something different from all her dresses. Most of her dresses are floral so maybe I'll buy something plain for her this time, and maybe with a red ribbon. I was able to check out Periwinkle and Gingersnaps but nothing caught my attention.
And for my shopping, I wasn't able to buy one. I was in a rush because the mall was already closing so I thought of going back there next time.
But, at least I was able to buy Hubby's wireless LAN adapter from CD-R King.

So there, after a facial, quick dinner, and a window shopping who would have hate Monday after all? (*wink*)

I've been Working for 8 Years!

Yes, you heard it right, 8 years! From the day I graduated, I've been working ever since and never stopped. Maybe I took a break for a week or two but that was the longest. Oh, except for the time when I needed to rest while I was pregnant for a month. You see, the moment I graduated, I swore that I will work and will maintain the skills that I have in the years to come. I've gone from job hunting site to another. But one of the best are firms like executive recruiting firm. One of them is A.E. Feldman Associates, Inc. which maintained a high standard of service and commitment in the recruiting field. What they focused mainly is on both the job hunters who were of top quality and their clients who were industry-leading. And best of all, they always make sure that the benefit goes to both sides of the employment equation.

Gift Baskets

Last Mother's day Hubby and I gave my Mom a massage as a gift. I didn't know what to give her then since she already had all the bags that she wanted, all the wallets and somehow shoes too. Just recently I came across themed gift basket which gave me an idea. This would be nice to give out on special occasions especially on mother's day. These baskets can be made according to the occasion. It may be for a baptism, birthday, thanksgiving, anniversary, and can be for just an everyday gift for the people you love. If you would like to know more about the themes that they offer, you may want to check Flowershop.com now.

Here's her first tag...

1. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging since July 2006.

2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?
My officemate showed me this blog www.dessertscomefirst.com and Anton's Our Awesome Planet. I got inspired by these two people so I started blogging mostly on the restaurants and food that Hubby and I explored.

3. Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun.
Well, at first it was mostly fun, about our dates, Alex's milestones, and now I do paid blogging on the side. :)

4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.
- I gained a lot of online friends
- Like Nice, I also learned a lot from them
- I learned a lot from the internet like Alex's development and milestones, where to go, nice things to buy, etc...

5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE within the online world.
I can't get enough of it, once I get online, I would sit on it for HOURS. LOL! I think that's about it.

I'm tagging, Annette, Yvetchie, Vina, and Jenny.

--.:.--

Now, for Nice's second tag...

Her question is: If you have the chance to pick out your own name, what would it be and why?

I would never pick my name now I guess, because it's too common, instead I would want my name to be something like Ysabelle or Isabella. :)

Thanks again Nice for these very interesting tags. ;)

Our Saturday

...was the busiest day of the month! We woke up early (actually we woke up on our usual waking up time when it's a weekday) to bring my Tita to the airport on her way back to Bukidnon. Good thing traffic was not bad on a Saturday morning except when we got to the airport. We got there on time so all is well.

When we got home we prepared for our family day lunch with my in-laws. As I've mentioned in my previous post that my cousin-in-law who just graduated will be going back home to Texas so we had a sort of a family day (from lunch to dinner) thing with her and her family.

Lunch was grreeeaaat! Hubby's brother prepared lots of seafood (crabs, shrimps, prawns, and squid) for us. We also had Pork Sinigang, Alex's and Hubby's favorite! We were so full after lunch that I got sleepy. LOL! We couldn't rest since Hubby and I scheduled a shopping in the afternoon.

Yes, an early Christmas shopping at Karl Edwards International Bazaar in the Fort. Oh, I've been waiting for this for so long already. I want an early shopping because I don't want to stress myself when December comes knowing that everybody is going to shop. And besides, I'm too excited to wait. LOL! We were able to buy some stuff for our godsons and goddaughters. I just hope they'll like it. The items there were a little expensive. I don't know, I was expecting something like p200 for our inaanaks but we ended up buying something way over our budget. Hmmmm...I guess prices really went up these days? Anyway, we check out the bazaar twice then went home. I just hope that our next shopping in a bazaar will not be over our budget. Hehehe!

After the shopping, we went back to my sister to fetch Alex. Then they went back to my in-laws for dinner. I on the other hand, went home for my friend, Ercs' surprise bridal shower at home. Will post more about it when I get the photos from her. For the mean time, you can check her post about the shower here.

So that's how our Saturday went. It was a busy, busy day but also a fun, fun day.

Our Sunday was the opposite, we just stayed home, went out to buy some groceries, then went back home to sleep and rest. :)

How about you, how was your weekend?

A Baby Shower on Friday

Events, events and more events are coming up. All of my pregnant friends are giving birth this year! Such exciting months for them I'm sure. Especially to my friend who will be having a baby shower on Friday. I attended several baby showers already and most of my gifts are more on the practical side since I have no idea what to give. I checked out some baby shop and there are a lot of cute gifts that my friend would really appreciate. There's actually a company called LilaGuide that provides you a comprehensive compilation of real parent reviews of more than 32,000 local bay and parent-friendly businesses across US. Lilaguide is actually a division of The Knot Inc, which has been in the internet for several years now. So, I assume that we can really trust them and that they provide a wonderful guide for us parents who don't know what to give on baby showers.

I'm Back!

Well, it's not that I've been away for awhile I just decided to relax this weekend and tried to avoid my laptop. :) I had a grand time but I missed blogging too so you will see a lot of posts today, not to mention some opps that I should have written last week. Thanks by the way to all those who dropped by over the weekend. I appreciate it so much!

Today is also MY day since I asked Hubby if it's ok if I'll have facial later and a little bit of shopping. So my to do lists for today includes:

  • work and blog about our weekend and answer some tags (maybe this one will do tomorrow or so)

  • will try to do another LO

  • facial

  • shopping for me and window shopping for Alex's Christmas dress

I hope I can do everything on this list today. I'm so excited! Will post about it tomorrow. :)

Have a wonderful week everyone! ;)

Hubby's Dream TV

Ever since we transferred to our new home Hubby never stopped dreaming of having a plasma TV. I know it is such a big dream that it would take years for us to save for it. And if we talk about the cost, it doesn't only entail the TV itself but also some accessories like plasma mount. I know it is a big expense, but I was thinking would it also classify as an investment too? Well, for Hubby I guess yes, but for me, well, he had to convince me once again. :)

LO Share

I had a few hours to spare yesterday so I decided to make an LO. I think it's been a month already since I last shared one. I used Alex's photo which was taken when she was 7 months old. Oh, I just love her photo here but didn't have the time to make an LO.

Anyway, here it is...

Have a great weekend everyone! (*wink*)

Hooked on GA Season 3

After watching Heroes, I've never thought that I would still get hooked on Grey's Anatomy or GA Season 3. But, the moment I watched the first episode, I still can't get enough of it. Now, I'm now watching episode 8 and I noticed that the medical equipment on the show keeps on getting better everyday. It's amazing how they save lives and how much these equipment can help in the process. Even if it's a show, I assume that the medical equipment used are authentic or really do exist. AllegroMedical.com also offers these kind of equipment. Most common used include Blood Pressure Monitor, Maternity Care Equipment, Polar Heart Monitor, and any other equipment that help save lives.

Sunday Lunch

Before another weekend starts, I wanted to post about our lunch last Sunday here at home. It was pretty simple. Hubby's Tito and Titas came over for lunch and also to check out our house since they saw it while under construction. We served a light lunch since they didn't want to eat a lot. Since most of them were above 60's already I thought of serving healthy food. :) Here are the food that we served...

(My Own) Pasta Salad with Balsamic Vinegar - this is MIL's fave so she said it would be great to serve it for lunch. They loved it!

Sushi/Maki - another healthy food. We ordered from Tok-yu Sushi Bar. It only took around 15 minutes for Tok-yu staff to do this. I was amazed! We ordered a medium plate and they said that it was good.

img_2004

Tempura - our usual tempura from Palengke at Paluto in Ortigas. It was a hit!

Grilled Fish - it was so simple. We just grilled it on top of the stove and then we're done!

Pansit Canton - another one of the things that we usually order. It was cheap and yummy too. The guests loved it!

We didn't bother to buy dessert anymore since most of them are diabetic. But I still served dried mangoes which my Mom brought from Cebu, since MIL loves desserts. We took a few pictures after lunch, check it out...

I had so much fun even if it was short. I had a great time talking to the Titas. Haaaay, these are the moments that I really look forward to on Sundays. :)

Security is a Must!

Hubby's database crashed yesterday without any particular reason. Good thing he was able to backed up everything in the morning just in time for the crash. We were talking about it and I was thinking that maybe he needs to make it secured. Since they just had an internet connection which made his computer prone to any attacks. I will suggest that he purchase something like a password keeper to keep everything safe and secured. It is actually a multi-platform privileged password management system. I remember before I used to put all my passwords in my organizer which made me think now, what if I lost that organizer, then all my passwords will be at risk? So I guess the best way is to take advantage of these newly developed systems wherein we can already see how it would benefit our most prioritized systems.

Let Her Be...

Alex woke up from her afternoon nap too early. She slept for an hour only. But this is better compared to yesterday were she slept for only 15 minutes! But since I still have work to do I just let her stay in her playpen. Funny she just sat there, read books, play with her boom box, read some books, and never bother to ask me to carry her. You see, she's just a few meters away from me so I can see what she's doing. She can also sees me and call me anytime she wants to. I guess sometimes it's good to just let her be. I don't want her to cling on to me all the time. In short, I want her to be independent. And I know (and hope) that this is a good start.

I don't know why I exactly want this for her. Maybe I was raised like this. I don't know and can't remember exactly.

Shopping and a Family Dinner on a Saturday

...just make the weekend perfect! I was hesitant to go to the mall last Saturday but we had to, since we needed to buy gift for Alex's "baby" for the Mommy Bloggers' Christmas party. Alex will be giving (or gave) a gift to Jacob (of Apols) so we went to the Shoe section. At first we went to the infants' section and tried on some for Alex. And guess what we discovered? It just didn't fit anymore. So off we went to the children's section and there, we found her size. It just means one thing, Alex is no longer a baby. :( (and Jacob too! hehehe!)

Yes, yes, I know I guess I just have to accept that my Baby Alex is already a toddler. She was amazed at the shoes in the store that she wanted to fit everything! Oh yes, she definitely loves shoes (just like Mama! :D). I also went window-shopping for some clothes but still have to wait for the budget to come...

We had lunch at Pancake House by the way but it wasn't decent. LOL! Alex wanted to check out the arcade in front so Hubby and I ended up taking turns to eat. We didn't bring her yaya thinking that she will be fine (or should I say we will be fine!?). It was a short trip to the mall anyway so it was ok. After the errands we went straight home.

We rested for a couple of hours then prepared for dinner. It was actually my cousin-in-law's (Hubby's Cousin) graduation celebration at Tomas Morato. The restaurant (which I can't exactly remember the name) was nice. It was Chinese restaurant and they reserved a small room for the family and relatives. Food was great and the place was nice too. Food was served in lauriat style. The funny thing is everyone was looking forward to Yangchao Fried Rice but it wasn't served. LOL! They said that noodles were served in place of the rice. Oh I see! I just realized that we Filipinos can't just live without rice!

But with or without the rice, the dinner was perfect! We get to see Hubby's relatives again and it was sort of a mini reunion. Here's my cousin-in-law in her toga.

Congrats Ate M and have a nice trip back to Texas. We will miss you! :D

13th Month is on Its Way!

I heard from Hubby last night that his 13th month is on it's way! Yey! But on second thoughts, why wait for his 13th month when CouponChief.com is there to help? Hubby's 13th month is actually allocated for the gifts that we will be giving this Christmas. I was thinking that I could also give out some coupons this Christmas. Like for my Brother-in-law, we can give him dell coupons since he's into gadgets just like Hubby. For my nephews, we might give them some toys from eToys.com since they offer such good eToys.com deals. There are so many choices that I don't know which one to choose since everything is just wonderful! But one thing's for sure is that they'll going to love it!

Sunglasses, Anyone?

I know the weather has been a little bit weird lately. It's been raining in November! I can't exactly remember if weather has been like this before. But anyway, since most of the days are still sunny, I would still love to buy some sunglasses. I think it's part of fashion already, especially those Dior Sunglasses that would complete your outfit. You see, it's only part of the outfit but will also be very useful when traveling.

RedBird is known as the discount retailer of Sunglasses such as Dior, Armani, Diesel and Gucci in Australia. They also sell electric shavers such as Braun and Philips which are definitely of good quality. Although Hubby is not really into wearing watches, but I may still want to check out RedBird for other products. Probably electric shavers would be best to purchase here. A little bit expensive compared to the local mall but I assume that it is in good shape and of best quality.

The Mommy Bloggers

There are a lot of Mommy Bloggers in the blogosphere and I was so lucky to be able to meet some of them and their kids.

Abie was one of the Mommies that I first saw in the Christmas party. And katuwa si Bela when I saw her dancing with Grimace! She was such a good dancer! :) It was nice meeting you, Howell, and Bela. :)

Aggie, I already met her a few months ago during our Bebots' EB but this was the first time I met Matthew and Martha. Such adorable kids! Nice seeing you again Aggie! ;)

Apple was late. Sayang but there's always next time. And we loved the key chain so much. Thanks again! :)

Apols, the organizer! Joy was right, you were softer in person. LOL! I was expecting a mataray Apols (since I was reading your blog), but, no, you were really friendly and accommodating. Thanks to you I felt at home agad. :D

Jane and Sophia were one of the Mommies and kids that I look forward to meet. Since I've been visiting Jane's blog almost everyday. And I just love Sophia's outfits. LOL! Jane, I was surprise you were tall pala! No wonder Sophia's tall! Sophia is such a cutie! And Apols was right, she really looks like at Ate of all the kids there. :)

Joy is another tall and sexy Momma. Hehehe! I was also surprised that you were tall. I felt so small when I was in front of you and Jane. LOL! I was looking forward to meeting you and Sandy too! Sandy is so adorable lalo na in person. And Joy, I love her outfit especially her shoes!

Jody was also one of the busiest Mommy there. And oh, I really love your flawless make-up! Will read more on your blog what's your secret ha. Hehehe! It was really nice meeting you, Dicky, Bianca and Margaux. They are such pretty kids! I would always tell Hubby that yan si Jody sikat na wedding planner yan. :)

Jacqui was one of my team mates during the first game. She was funny and kalog! :) I can't forget how
we were laughing so hard when the host said to share our talents, then she said lights off daw. hehehe! Next time Jacqui, show us your talent ok?!

Peachy the businesswoman. hehehe! She was also fun to be with. I hope next time you can bring some more clothes ha! It was nice meeting you and your family. :)

Kelly won best dressed! Woohooo! I love your outfit Kelly. Sayang Manu wasn't there but maybe next time ha. It was really nice meeting you and your Hubby! :)

Thea wore a nice outfit too. :) Ang cute ni Mikee, she was so mahinhin and quiet lang noh? Unlike Alex whose been so malikot and can't just get enough of the slide. hehehe! :)

So there, I just hope that we get to meet again next time (maybe for coffee or something) but without the kids this time, so we could talk more. LOL! :D

I Need a Vacation!

Since our Bangkok trip, Hubby and I never had a long vacation again. So, that was two months ago. You see, I didn't get to rest on Philippine holidays since I still need to work. So, I've been working for two straight months already so it means that I need a vacation badly. I wonder how it feels to have a Cancun Vacation on December? I heard that they are known for sensuality and seclusion On the White-Sand Beaches of Riviera Maya. Oh, I'm such a beach person! I just love to go to the beach and I could stay there for days while doing nothing. What I am curious about is their "Gourmet Inclusive" that is an entirely new concept. It caters to sophisticated world travelers who have come to expect and appreciate fine details. They bake their own breads and they make their own pastas and sauces. Oh, just thinking about it makes me hungry!! I just hope that someday I get to experience this indulgence because after all I deserve it for working hard right?

Pictures in a Blanket?

I remember the movie Step Mom. It was such a nice movie that I kept on crying while watching it. There were scenes that were unforgettable. But what I couldn't forget about it, are the gifts that the Mom gave to her kids. She doesn't want her kids to forget her so she gave one of her kids Picture Blankets. The pictures were all over the blanket, from giving birth up to present. It was such a nice gift. Her kids really appreciated it. I'm thinking of giving Alex one of these when she grows up. Probably when she reaches her teen years. There are different colors that I can choose from which would be according to Alex's favorite color. It is a nice way to keep the memories and for her to always be reminded of us. Her Daddy and I may be far from her at that moment but at least through the picture blanket, she will always remember us.

Friendship Award

I got a very nice friendship award from Yen and Lucel Juliana. Oh, you're so sweet Ladies! I appreciate it so much!

I've got a friend in you too! So, I'm giving this back to you both!

And aside from that, I will be passing this also to my blogger friends Era, Dangkin, Amore, Arlene, Eds, and to all the Mommy Bloggers whom I've met last Sunday (Abie, Aggie, Apple, Apols, Jane, Joy, Jody, Jaqcui, Peachy, Kelly, and Thea).

Stocks, Anyone?
