Alex's Kitchen Set

Have you ever wondered what happened to Alex's kitchen set? The kitchen set that we gave her for Christmas last year?

This is how her kitchen set looks like now! Definitely a mess! LOL!

Why do we Need Friends?

From Jhona, Dez, and Jody! Thanks ladies! ;)

We need friends for many reasons,
all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us
when we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.

We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,
and treat us nice.

We need friends to remember us
one we have passed
sharing memories that will always last.

Spread the poem of friendship.

Weekend Meet-ups!

We had two major meet ups last weekend. One was with Hubby's college friend and he treated us for dinner last Saturday. We had a great time. Before meeting up with the group, we brought Alex to McDonald's first and had her dinner there. Recently, she learned to discover McNuggets with barbeque sauce (thanks to her Dada!) and she loved it ever since! She can eat only the sauce and sometimes she wants it with rice too. LOL!

We on the other hand, had dinner at Pizza Hut. We had meatlover's pizza, chicken wings, and lasagna. We were full afterwards. The boys decided to have drinks afterwards so Hubby brought us home after dinner since I was too sleepy while Alex was getting cranky too!

o 0 o

Our next meet up was my most awaited - our lunch date with the MBAPs (together with Hubbies and kids). We met at Dampa, Macapagal at around 11AM. It was a bit raining though but still we had a great time (as usual!).

Jacqui organized the meet up (thanks Jacqui!). She and Abie went early there to buy the food (and I can say that she bought LOTs and LOTs of food! Yum!). It was a feast! We had buttered and garlic shrimps, sinigang na hipon, steamed fish, grilled pampano, calamares, baked mussels, grilled liempo, buttered crabs, mango and watermelon for dessert.

Uuuuggggh, I can say that I gained a lot of weight after that sumptuous lunch! I don't know what my OB will say on my next checkup this week. LOL!

The kids had a lot of fun too having to meet new friends. Alex was holding Sandy's hand the whole time they were playing and jumping! Joy, I think Sandy wants a playmate already. LOL! ;)

The Daddies were overwhelmed with how much food Jacqui ordered but looks like they had so much fun eating as much as we did too! They also had fun chatting while some (I'm talking about my Hubby here) are looking after the kids.

We, on the other hand are trying to talk as much as we can. But as usual, kids were getting whiney after lunch probably because it was time for nap for most of them. Well, Alex immediately fell asleep right the moment we were in the car!

Anyway, it was nice seeing you again Mommies (and hubbies with kids)...

Jacqui - thanks again for organizing! 'Til out next EB!

Jane - who looks sexy as ever! Looking forward to your swimming pool...LOL!

Peachy - your shrimp and tahong secret is safe with me! Mwehehehe!

Aggie - Nice to see you again and the kids! Hope you get well soon!

Joy - more chika next time!

Jody - glad to see you and good thing you dropped by before your event!

and Abie - I love the books that I got for Alex. Sa uulitin!

Litzie wants to see the comparison, just for fun.

The Rule:

Copy and Paste this part of the tag. Post a photo of you, your husband and your child’s photos in the same ages. Then tag 5 people. Link up the BLOG post you had your entry on.

ThreeOfUs

Now, I'm confused, all along I thought I look like Alex. LOL! After seeing Hubby's baby photo, I think Alex looks a bit like him too! Who do you think Alex looks like!? :)

Now, would you like to join us, Alpha, Abie, and Kathy?

We had a Good Laugh!

Hello?

While I was browsing some bathroom faucets online the other day, Hubby and Alex were bonding right before going to sleep. I decided to join them and I realized that by watching Alex play, we would have a good laugh!

That night Alex was busy jumping on our bed (which she usually does every night before going to sleep). So we were trying to make her sleep since it's already past her bedtime. We were trying to talk to her so she would sleep with Barney, Teddy and Baby Bop. But we were surprised when she grabbed her phone and then suddenly said (in a very loud voice), Hello, Mr. Bean, There!? (Alex's version of "Hello Mr. Bean, are you there!?"). Hubby couldn't speak right that moment and then we were laughing.

It was a pretty good laugh indeed! :D

Alex's Photobooks!

IMG_3187 2

...are here! I got it last Friday and I was happy with the results. I had it printed at Digiprint and so far their service was ok. I gave them the layouts Monday night and then they delivered it right into my doorstep Friday noon. So, now I got two photobooks for Alex! One is her first year album and then the other is her second birthday party album. Now, I'm thinking where to store it! I will probably buy a special box and a box cutter for these two photobooks. I wouldn't want even the dust to attack it. LOL!

Check the other pages of the photobook here! ;)

Wednesday Happy Thoughts

I can't believe it's Wednesday once again! Time is flying so fast! I remember last week I was doing some research on life insurance quote and it's benefits and then posted my Wednesday Happy Thoughts. And now, it's time for another one! ;)

Happiness is...

1. Another bed weather today!
2. ME time last Monday
3. 2 hours of nap with the little girl
4. 3 appointments in the middle of the week (hoping for more!)
5. Had time to sleep and rest over the weekend
6. Assignments for the rest of the week
7. Sonya's Spanish Bread (Yum!)
8. Alex getting to like Dunkin Donut's munchkins
9. Good health for us in spite of the weather
10. An upcoming get-away

Not Bad!

...for a ME time that is! Since I was confused on what I should do yesterday during my ME time, I decided to do everything! LOL!

After work, I updated all my blogs of course and did a few bloghopping. After that I scrapped for two LO's that is part of Alex's mini photobook which I will be giving to my Mom for her birthday. After scrapping, I felt a bit sleepy, so I took a nap! And I slept for 2 hours! It was heaven for me. No distractions or whatsoever. Except for Hubby texting me every once in a while. :D

After taking a nap, I had some snacks and then tried to make a jello (with fruit cocktail) for Hubby and Alex. See, I can cook! LOL! So when Hubby and Alex arrived, I felt so refreshed and happy too. :)

I guess I did have a good day yesterday in spite of working on a holiday. Another working holiday (for me) is coming up next week. And I wonder (again) what I should do on that day after work? Hmmmm...

How did your holiday went? ;)

ME time!

What to do!? What to do!?

This is what I've been thinking since this morning the moment Hubby and Alex left for the in-laws. You see, it's a holiday today but I have work. So I just let Hubby and Alex go out for today so they have fun at the same I get to have my "ME" time after work too!

But the funny thing is that I don't know what to do with my free time anymore. It seems like I have been spending time with Alex too much that when I get to have my own free time, I have a lot of things in mind that I want to do BUT, I couldn't choose which is which. I'm thinking of sleeping, scrapping, bloghopping, and a LOT more! (*sigh*) With this I would end up doing NOTHING! LOL!

Anyway, I had a fun Saturday with Hubby. We went to do our early Christmas shopping at 168 Mall and we went home with a lot of loots. It was our first time there so we were surprised how big the mall was. I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping (yes, you read it right!). I'm doing it early because I want to focus on Baby #2 and Alex when I give birth which is the last week of November. By that time, I'm pretty sure that I won't have the strength to think about it and even buy those things.

Time is flying so fast! I noticed! I'm on my 26th week already and no time I will be giving birth already. So what I'm doing now is enjoying the time with Hubby and Alex and do whatever I can while I can still move around. I feel bigger already and I can just imagine what I will look like in 2 months!

And oh, I got Alex's first year photobook already and will post about it in my other blog soon! I got so excited because it looked pretty good. More than I have expected. So now, I will have to prepare myself to make another one for Baby #2. :)

I hope everyone is having a nice (long) weekend! (*wink*)

Happy Friday!

IMG_3150

I can't think of a better title. I just feel happy today because it's FRIDAY! Last day of work for the week and I can't wait for the weekend. It has been a busy (or tiring) week and I can't wait to have another relaxing weekend. Although we have things to do over the weekend but hopefully it will relax us (especially me) since it entails shopping! LOL! I hope we can also drop by the mall to buy some stuff for the wirings in my workstation. The dust is already getting on my nerves! Anyway, will cut this short now since my mind is on the weekend-mode already.

Oh by the way, the photo of Alex above was taken a few weeks ago. Can she be a future rock star!? LOL! She is singing EEYAEEYAYOOO and looks like she is having a grand time!

Happy Friday and Happy weekend everyone! (*wink*)

Makeup Essentials

Thanks to Kathy for this kikay tag!

I don't wear makeup all the time and I don't consider myself kikay at all! But the moment I saw my eye bags and my face getting pale, I started considering wearing makeup. But I only got these four items in my makeup kit. Theses include the following items from Body Shop...

1. All-in-one Foundation
2. Concealer for my eyebags
3. Retractable blusher brush
4. Shimmer Waves Bronze Blush-on
5. Lipstick/Lip gloss

That's it! Although I'm hoping to add a pimple cream in my list but for now, I will have to pass on that since I'm pregnant.

Care to share yours!? :)

I Want One of These!

Apart from the Nautica watches that I saw last night at the mall, I would also want one of these for my birthday or maybe Christmas...

First Row: Grapevine in Gray, Ithak Tote in Black, Mickey Trifold Wallet in Red
Second Row: Twirl Shoulder Satchel in Green, Twirl Shoulder Satchel in Pink Floral,
Third Row: Zouk Shoulder Bag in White and Black

These are all from the Kipling Collection. The zouk shoulder bag in white and black is the latest that they got and they also have it in different colors. This one is my first choice. :) I will probably ask my brother who is in Macau to buy one for me (if it is cheaper there). So now my problem is, which one to choose! LOL!

*Photos from Kipling website.

Haven't Heard of This.

About commercial collection agencies that is. These agencies are lead by Pyramid Financial Solutions – The Industry Leader in Debt Collection and Receivables Management. It is the number one choice for all of your receivables management needs. As a full-service debt collection agency, they have the knowledge, experience, and equipment it takes to provide you with faster, better debt returns than the competition. It think this will be a good choice for companies who are into debt collection and receivables management. I suggest they look into this one.

Alex's Nightmares

I couldn't believe that Alex was having nightmares already. I know there are days that she would cry while sleeping but I didn't realize that she could also remember it! Here is what our conversation one morning.

Me: Alex, what happened, why did you cry earlier? what did you dream about?
Alex: (After a few minutes) Monster Inc.
Me: Why what happened to Monster Inc?
Alex: (After another few minutes) Wawa girl, no eyes, Wawa!

Whaaat!? Did I hear her right!? She dreamt about Monsters Inc!? But as far as I can remember, she watched this movie months ago so I couldn't believe it when she told me about it.

Anyway, maybe for now, I won't let her watch that movie so she won't have nightmares about it.

Now I'm off to discuss CAT5e with Hubby since he has been experiencing some difficulties with his internet at work.

Good Food and Good Company at MIL's Birthday

On our way to my in-laws' house, Hubby and I discussed on what we are getting for car insurance next year. We ended up with nothing because we are trying to sell the car and deciding about it won't be a good idea. Anyway, we will just probably talk about it again if we will be able to sell the car hopefully within the year.

We got my in-laws' house at around 7:30PM last Friday because traffic was a bit bad at EDSA. We were just in time for dinner and some close friends of my in-laws were already there.

The food was great. They ordered for Chinese food like Cold cuts, Soup, Yangchow Fried Rice, Beef with Broccoli, Fried Chicken, and Pork Spareribs. Desserts were everywhere! We had Lansones, Mango, Sugarhouse Cake, Almond Jelly, and pastries from Conti's. It was heaven for me! LOL! But of course, I couldn't eat everything all at once because of my diet and blood sugar, so I had to eat it every hour. I had the time of my life! :D

Everyone was so full after dinner and at exactly 8PM everyone was glued to the TV watching the opening of Beijing Olympics which was so amazing! Too bad though I didn't watch the show from the start.

After a couple of minutes, the guests (who were the close friends of my in-laws) started calling it a night while we were left there waiting for the parade of athletes. After the parade of the Philippine athletes we then called it a night. Except for Hubby who watched again for the lighting of the torch which happened at around 12 Midnight. Since I couldn't sleep yet, I watched too, and was amazed by the fireworks. It was just great and overwhelming! They really did a great job on that one.

It was a long night indeed but we had so much fun and I'm sure MIL also had the time of her life. :)

Starting the Week Right

I realized over the weekend that one thing to start the week right is having a relaxing weekend.

Last Friday, it was my MIL's birthday so we had dinner at their place with some close friends. Will post more on that later. We spent the night at their place so Alex, with her cousins were able to swim again Saturday morning. They had a blast as usual.

Yesterday, we planned to go to the mall to do some errands but we ended up sleeping the whole afternoon, which is a better choice. (*grin*) I had a terrible headache before lunch so that made me decide not go out anymore. Except for hearing mass at the Church near our place.

I was also able to do a little bit of budgeting and planning for the rest of the week. You see, it is really nice to do this every weekend. Just stay at home, bond with Hubby and Alex. With that, I got a lot of energy for the rest of the week and also for the upcoming weekend. (*wink*)

Planning our Christmas Break

Recently, I've been checking our schedule for the Christmas season since Alex's Yaya wants to take a vacation in December. If that's the case then the all-around help should also given an opportunity to rest right? So now, I'm checking on the household chores that I can do when I give birth. There would be cooking, marketing or buying some groceries, laundry, taking care of Alex and baby #2, cleaning the house, and the list goes on and on. I can do some probably since Hubby will be home and can take care of the babies. But I would say that ironing will not be part of my list. LOL! You see, I just hate this chore and even using an imported irons wouldn't convince me otherwise. We will probably bring the dirty clothes to the laundry shop when the maids are on vacation. I will make sure that, that will happen. LOL!

On second note, I'm looking at Callaway irons to give out for golf lovers out there probably this Christmas. But still thinking who and of course would have to consider the budget too.

08.08.08

This is a special day for a lot of people. Weddings are everywhere, I'm sure! And boy, it's nice to make a memory on this special date, right!?

We are also celebrating this special day because it's my MIL's birthday! Happy Birthday, Mommy!

p8050477
Taken at Circles Shang, Makati to celebrate her birthday last year...

We wish you more happiness, love, and peace of mind in the years to come!

o 0 o

Anyway, to those who are making a mark on this day, have fun and make the most out of it! :) To the couples who are getting married, congratulations to you! To the birthday celebrants, happy birthday to you too!

I will just leave a mark here and post this special photo of ours taken months ago. We were just goofing around before going to sleep and surprisingly Alex was in a mood for photo taking.

Enjoy this day folks and always remember that 08.08.08 doesn't happen again! (*wink*)

Another Investment?

Hubby is going crazy on what business to venture for the next few years. It's just that (we think) everything has been done here in our country already. From internet cafe to salons, it's just all over the place. So I'm thinking of just venturing into an investment instead. There is a coin dealer that I came across recently by Monaco Rare Coin. Monaco Rare Coin is part of the Monex family of companies, a trusted leader in precious metals investments for nearly 40 years. The Monex companies have helped tens of thousands of investors invest over $25 billion in hard asset investments including rare coins, gold, silver and platinum bullion. They also offered other precious metal investments.

Everything is just in the internet nowadays. All I need to do is do more research on this one and talk to Hubby if we will go with it or not.

Alex’s Favorite Snacks

Alex is not the kid who loves to eat snacks. She would rather eat rice and ulam in a full meal and then wait for the next meal to come. But there are still certain snacks that she likes every now and then like...

1. Cheese
2. Yoghurt
3. Yakult/Fruit Juice
4. Gummi Bears (is this considered a snack!?)
5. Pretzels
6. Biscuits
7. Raisins

Now, what are your kids' favorite snacks, Dez, Jo and Pam?
