Saving money for a child is all the more important now. Money is hard to come by, except for maybe payday loans. As the child grows, expenses might increase. When the child is in college, you might need a lot of money at once. What do you do?
Saving money for a child is like starting to build a mountain now. And it is always a good habit. When in need, your piggybank will be the world’s greatest bank. Like accumulating trickles that form a stream, accumulating money forms wealth.
Raising a kid is as brave a decision as deciding to have one. When you bring up your kid you need to understand the importance of giving a decent level of everything to your kid. You must feel elated as well as responsible, because until a certain point of time, your child's future is shaped by you.
Saving for your children's college education should start early. One might think "What is the guarantee that my kid will go to college?" All these thoughts are unfounded. It is better to be safe than sorry. Even if your kid does not become a college-goer, the accumulated money can be used for other things.
Let the funds towards your child's future education be consistent. Don't include random amounts. You can do it. But random amounts will encourage you to put in less during certain times. Some people choose random amounts so that when they do take out the money, they like to be surprised at what has been accumulated. On the other hand, a consistent amount can be easily calculated anytime. You would easily know how much has been accumulated. It sounds less exciting, but is generally safer.
Now to the main question. Where do you save it? The best option is the bank, and not the piggy-bank, because banks pay you interest.
That's what I call my little girls. Even if they've grown a lot lately, I still call them my babies. I don't want them to grow too fast! I wish I could freeze time and have them by my side forever. But well, that's not possible. So will just make the most out of the time. I know that one day, they would prefer to go out with their friends than hang out with their Mama and Dada.
Year after year we always seem to have the same holiday party. While it’s fun to see everyone come together, this year would be a good time to switch things up a bit. With the stress of work and planning your year, it would be nice to have everyone come and enjoy a little different type of a holiday party. My suggestion for this year is to host a costume party where everyone attending can dress up, and as this is an odd time of the year to have a theme party, it would be that much more fun for everyone.
Kids love to dress up and so do most adults, so why not put something together for the holidays that can be both entertaining and memorable? There are so many themes to choose from and you most likely won’t even have to purchase anything extra to get your costume together. One of the simplest things to do would be to wear your old Halloween costumes and see who comes up with the best or worst ones. It will be exciting and everyone will appreciate this lighthearted theme party.
The whole point of a holiday party is to have a good and memorable time and what better way to do so than by having a costume party? For some odd reason, everyone ends up with at least one sweater that we know they would never wear. Everyone has one and they feel too guilty to do anything about it so it would be a nice idea to ask everyone to come in their worst sweater. It will be interesting to see what kind of fashion the attendants come up with and have something to laugh about for months after the party. Holidays parties do not have to be serious, so try to make it as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
It has been a tradition that we would spend our kids' second birthday in Mindanao. That's where I grew up. With this, she gets to meet her cousins, Lolos, Lolas, Titos and Titos. True enough, both Ate A and Baby A had a grand time!
For the party details, most of it are DIY. Since the city is small and there is no party supplier there yet. This is a blessing in disguise because my Tita would be doing the stage backdrop!
She is the best! She did the stage backdrop while the butterfly boards were done by my Dad's carpenter in town. I so love how it looked! She also made the table centerpieces which made the place more beautiful.
There were butterflies at the foodcarts too!
The kids were given butterfly wings (for girls) and masks for the boys.
Some kids went there in costume. I noticed that the adults wanted the wings and the masks too. LOL! Good thing I brought a couple of extras, they were able to bring home a few pieces.
Just like the wings and the masks, I brought the backpacks for the giveaways in Divisoria - my favorite party place!
The kids love it! Some even asked for more. LOL!
The nice cake was made by our family friend Raquel.
I would say there were a couple of glitches during the party but since the kids had fun especially the birthday girl, I would say that it was perfect!
You’ll find critics of payday loans and payday lenders hurling criticisms from all directions. You’ll notice opportunistic politicians referring to them with pejorative terms and trying to regulate them out of business. Payday lenders aren’t very popular in some circles, to say the least.
But the critics have it wrong. Payday lenders aren’t some kind of destructive force. When used properly and responsibly, they can be lifesavers.
Not everyone has the luxury of a net worth exceeding a million dollars. Many of us are working hard every month without much margin for error. When we accidentally get a speeding ticket, a flat tire, or some other unexpected expense it’s a real challenge. In these cases, we need one thing: Quick cash.
Unfortunately, our friendly neighborhood banks won’t cut us a check for $200, no matter how long we’ve done business with them. Even if they would be willing to lend us money, it would take more than a few hours to walk out with cash in our hands. One could try to cover the emergency with a credit card, but let’s be honest, some of us are already maxed out or no longer have access to consumer credit.
So, what can we do? We can visit websites like paydayone.com or walk into a payday lender’s office. We can get the money we actually need to meet a short-term emergency quickly and easily. We can resolve the problem we’re facing and then get back to work.
Critics may like to vilify them, but until those critics are willing to loan you a few hundred dollars when you need it the most, they might not be the best source of opinion. Payday loans aren’t something we should use week after week, month after month. They’re something we can use in an emergency, though. They’re an option that often makes sense.
So you’ve decided to take the leap and become an affiliate marketer. Affiliate marketers are used more and more by businesses and retailers wanting to drive more businesses to their individual companies. This helps the retailers to promote and expand as well. As an affiliate market you can be paid commissions that are sometimes as high as 50 percent and it is a great option for those wanting to work from home.
So you need to choose the best affiliate program so you can ensure a good income stream. If you do an affiliate review, as well as a bit of research, you can help guarantee your success. There are a few questions that you’ll want answered before joining a particular affiliate program.
• What is the cost? Are there any fees that you have to pay up front? First you should know that most affiliate programs are free to join, so it’s probably not a good idea to choose a program that is asking you to “pay to earn!”
• Find out the payment schedule of commissions. Some programs issue checks each month, others every quarter and so on. Some programs will not issue checks until a certain earning level has been met. Also find out their payment methods, for instance using PayPal or credit cards. Make sure it is satisfactory to your needs.
• What is the program’s hit-per-sale ratio? Also how many hits does your link need to meet? Determine these numbers before signing up for an affiliate program, as this will tell you how much traffic must be produced for a commission to be received.
• How are your referrals tracked? This is the method that will allow you to know you are being credited for any sales.
Basically do your homework about your potential affiliate program and you will find success.
You may be wondering what the kids were doing while we were riding the ziplines. Well, here they were...
We brought Baby A's Yaya and then Ate A was with Lolo! She was our cheerer and would shout everytime someone finishes the ride. Too bad the weather was unpredictable, they weren't able to explore the place. Hopefully, when we go back, they could at least check out the playground.
Being a mom means being resourceful. That's important, because it's also something you'll want to pass on to your children. That way they can also learn the value of being resourceful and using the things around them to make their world great.
Having things is fun, but there is a lot of beauty and joy in simplicity, too. For example, what about postcards? Most people have forgotten all about them in the face of email, but they're still a great way to let other people know you're thinking of them. You can also use them if you're starting up your own, home-based business while the kids are in school. Have some postcards printed up and see that they get to your neighbors, friends and local businesses that might be able to use your services. By doing that, you'll gain a larger customer base and the cards won't cost you a lot. You can use them to show the value of hard work to your children, and you can show them how important it is to think outside of the box.
Postcards are different - they aren't email and they aren't some big envelope that someone has to open. They're simple, clean and easily distributed. It makes them valuable as a marketing tool and as a correspondence tool for loved ones. While you're at it, consider all of the other ways you could get your information out there and the ways you could show your children how important it is to stay in touch with others and use what's available to you. The lessons that you teach them - and the ones that they teach you - will be very valuable for everyone in the family for a long time to come.
We all know that good shoes make a good impression. But, some people wonder exactly why this is. Good shoes show not only that you are fashionable and responsible, but have other great benefits as well.
First, the right pair of shoes can help you keep good posture. This is especially true for those with back problems. Shoes help with this, as can shoe inserts. People with back problems and even flat feet should keep in mind that getting shoes that are comfortable and help with posture can go a long way in helping to alleviate some of the pain or discomfort you're experiencing. If you have weak or sore ankles, wearing something with a higher top can help support and, in the long run, strengthen them.
Some people think that wearing high heels can help you with your posture. Unfortunately, in general, this is not the case. In fact, a constant use of high heels can cause unnecessary back problems. The reason for this is that when you wear heeled shoes, you are inevitably going to need to adjust your posture. Though this can help bring the shoulders back, giving the impression of appropriate posture, it also curves the spine in a negative way. This can lead to back problems later in life.
Good shoes and good health, though they do not necessarily have to go together, compliment each other very well. Keeping your posture in good condition and keeping away some of the back or foot pain that you experience is a definite plus for many. Luckily, you don't have to sacrifice style for good shoes, either. You can find great, stylish shoes that also offer amazing support that helps create and maintain appropriate posture.
After a literally rough ride at the jeep, we finally arrived at the top of one of Dahilayan mountains. We were immediately given safety harnesses.
With my sister and cousin.
I was so happy we didn't have to fall in line for this ride. If we would wait for hours before the ride, I would've backed out! I was so nervous, I was looking for a bathroom. Unfortunately, there was none. Sorry for me!
THIS IS IT!
Hubby went first. He was ALONE because he wanted to take our photos at the other side. So I went with our family friend. I would say, the scariest adventure I ever had in my life. But at least now, I can say, I was brave at least once in my lifetime. LOL!
Game night is always fun. Whether it is something that you do with board games and the whole family, or if it something that you indulge in online by yourself, having a time set aside to play games is a great way to keep yourself rejuvenated.
There are tons of great board games to play as a family. With kids that are a little older, there are games such as Monopoly and Life. With younger kids, you may want to consider something like Memory or even Hungry Hungry Hippos. Most kids enjoy spending some time playing games with the rest of the family, no matter their age or skill level. Many people today are taking their family game night a little more high tech. If you have a gaming console like a Wii or an Xbox, this can be easy. There are many games for these systems that are great for family game night. In fact, some of the classic board games like Monopoly have gone digital with these systems as well.
If you are planning a game night for yourself, you may want to consider an online casino. Being able to play more adult-oriented games, like poker, can help you unwind and feel a little more grownup. Other options for individual play are limitless. Finding a game that you enjoy is easy with the advent of the Internet. With options that are endless, from Solitaire to World of Warcraft, you will be able to cater your game night to exactly what you want. Do you want something to play alone? Or would you prefer something that allows you to interact with others?
When planning a game night, keep in mind who is going to be playing. If it is a game night for everyone, you will want a game to include everyone in the family. If you are playing yourself, find something that you enjoy playing.
Andie had a great birthday. She got some adorable gifts from friends and family. I think my favorite thing is a little black and silver, multi-tiered dress from Baby Phat. I can't wait to put it on her and snap a few pictures. Maybe I am biased (okay, so I am totally biased) but she is the most photogenic baby I have ever seen! I have never ordered anything for her from Baby Phat before, but I may have to look them up! Their stuff is so great!
I am contemplating what I should get her for Christmas. This year she will really be able to pay attention and understand what is going on. I want to buy her everything I see in the stores. When I see her eyes light up, I want to grab that toy and buy it right then. But I know that I can't. Some would already call her spoiled. I know I have to draw the line somewhere.
How about you? By the time your baby's second Christmas rolled around, were you buying him or her everything they smiled at? Was it a Christmas that your child still remembers? Did it make an impression on them in some way?
I really am torn between making this Christmas the best one she's had and keeping it toned down on Christmas morning. Of course, I can't control Grandma's house. It is always a crazy day there! So many children!
Every year I tell Grandma several times that someone else should be the host for Christmas dinner. I know her feet, head, and back ache by the end of the day. Still, I really think she loves having all of us there around her. She could complain all day at the age of 76, but she does not say a single negative word. I also think she really likes being in charge!
Remember my post here? I had to try two rides first before the ultimate 840m in a "superman" position. That is why, I was not too scared when I was at the top. Check out what happened before I conquered the scary ride!
With Hubby, preparing the harness. I was so confident, it looks safe!
Chose helmets. By this time, I was already REALLY scared and wanted to backout. If not for the little boy who was ahead of us, I would have been running into my Dad's arms. LOL! Well it shows, I looked pale already! LOL!
This was the first ride - 150 meters. When Hubby and I started, I was really screaming but when we were in the middle part, it wasn't scary anymore.
Look! WE can even smile even after the 320 meters ride! (*grin*)
The view was spectacular, which made the ride more special. For the ultimate 840m ride, we had to take the jeep on the way up.
I would say, the scariest jeepney ride of my life! But nothing would ever take the place of the zipline "superman" ride. LOL!
I'm not sure that I like the idea, but my husband is thinking about getting a motorcycle. While I know there's no stopping him when he makes his mind up, and I'm not sure I really want to, the whole thing makes me a little nervous. There's so many stories about terrible accidents involving bikes. At least I can make sure that he buys a good motorcycle insurance policy to go along with his new toy.
He keeps telling me how fun it will be to ride together. In a way, he's gotten me slightly excited about the idea when I'm not thinking about the potential problems. Maybe, he'll be right, and we'll have a great time riding around together as our own little thing without the kids. Of course, I'm sure they'll want to take a ride just as soon as they're big enough. What kid doesn't love a bike?
At least I have some time to get used to the idea. He's planning on putting in some extra hours to pay for it. Something always seems to come up to use any extra money, so I'm sure it'll take quite some time for the money to add up. He has to take a safety course and get a motorcycle license, too. I keep thinking that might be enough for him to know whether he really wants his own bike.
I have to admit, it will be fun to pick out all the accessories to go with a new bike. We'll need helmets, motorcycle boots, and jackets. I guess I'll have to wait to see which type of bike he picks out before I know whether to go with basic black or to pick a certain color. Just listen to me. I had to find at least one good thing about this whole adventure.
We've been thinking about buying a new car for some time now, and we've finally decided to take the plunge. While we haven't narrowed it down to a specific car yet, we are just looking at Volvo models now. From the reviews, it sounds like you just can't beat a Volvo for safety and reliability. We're planning on keeping this car for a long time. Maybe, we'll even be able to teach the kids to drive in it. I'm not sure there's anything else out there that could possibly last longer.
It's taken us awhile to decide whether or not we could fit a car payment into our budget. Our current vehicle is paid for, but we're spending almost as much as a new car payment in the mechanic's shop just about every month. To make it even worse, I've started to worry about whether or not it will break down again every time I pull out of the driveway. We're just hoping that we can spend a little more upfront on a reliable car and save some money on the back end by not having any more repair bills for a long time. I guess we'll see over time how this great experiment works out.
So far, we've only been shopping online. Of course, we plan on test driving a few cars before we make our final decision, but we're dreading the face-to-face meeting with the salesperson at the car dealership. This time should be different than last time. We've found a site that will even tell us what everyone else in our area is paying for a specific car. We're hoping that we can walk in the dealership knowing what we can reasonably offer for a specific car and the negotiations will be easy. If not, we'll move on and try the next dealership on our list.
I'm talking about this!
It's only on their second week. I haven't gotten feedback about this yet. I heard a few friends who are going to check out this sale, but I think it didn't push through.
Any feedback about the sale?
I heard that there's a bazaar at Rockwell Tent this weekend so I'm convincing the husband to go with me! Though, it would be nice to go to this bazaar...
But it's too far! I'm definitely sure, the answer from the Hubby would NO.
Hopefully we'd find time to check out Rockwell Tent. I'm eyeing a couple of shoes from Suelas and I heard that they will be one of the suppliers there. We'll see!
So...here we go!
1. Three things I must have on my Thanksgiving table: Lechon, Salad, and Pasta.
2. I know someone who sacked out on the couch.
3. This is my most favorite day, Friday.
4. The Hubby loves to decorate the house for Christmas.
5. Oh, man, thankfully it's Friday today.
6. My friend perfect the art of procrastination.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to spend quality time with kids while watching a movie, tomorrow my plans include Christmas shopping and Sunday, I want to spend the whole day with my Mom who is arriving from the US!
There are so many things to be thankful for this year. One is having a healthy and happy family. A supportive Husband who is there all the time. Happy and healthy kids (inspite of colds, coughs and allergies). I'm thankful for blessing them to me. For having friends (online and offline), who are always there to support me in times of trials and challenges. How I wish I could go out tonight and celebrate but we weren't able to recover from the trip yet. So, we're staying home and continue on with our usual routine. Perhaps, a nice movie and popcorn will do. Kids would be ecstatic!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
You Are Fairly Normal |
You scored 40% normal on this quiz Like most people you are normal in some ways... But you aren't a completely normal person. You're a little weird too! Why You Are Normal: You eat the frosting first You know a lot about a few subjects You rather be screwed over than screw someone else over If you had to, you rather live without music and still have laughter You prefer fiction to non fiction Why You Aren't Normal: You don't keep up with your horoscope You prefer flat potato chips. You'd rather have cockroaches than rats in your home You would rather be tan than pale You prefer a good nap to a good meal |
Ever since we came back from the trip, I was pretty distracted with Twitter and FB that I couldn't find myself to blog again. I even had to put off looking for articles about male enhancement because I was too busy uploading photos and replying to the comments. I'm enjoying it so much actually! I haven't been udpating my FB for months. Well, except for uploading a couple of photos of the kids. Now that I have lots of photos to share, I'm having fun updating my profile. But now I need to do research about something at work so I have to wake up myself and have to go back to REALITY!
After thinking about it for months, I finally did it! I was able to conquer Dahilayan's 840 meters zipline ride.
I did it during our trip to Bukidnon last weekend. We planned this months before that's why I've been really nervous for months too! HA! I thought I would backout last minute, but no, I had to do it. After the almost 2 hours ride to Dahilayan, I told myself that I need to make the most out of the trip. SO there. Afterwards, i was looking for treatment for arthritis because my knees were so weak! LOL! Probably because of the weather since it was a little cold when we were there. It was raining too. Good thing, the rain stopped when it was our turn to do the zipline ride.
Happiness is...
1. Was able to conquer Dahilayan's Zipline Ride. It was Amazing!
2. Food trip in Malaybalay
3. Bonding with cousins
4. Successful 2nd birthday party of Andie
5. Shopping at MNG outlet
6. Lechon! Yummy!
7. Everyday :)
8. Tita Carol's Internet Cafe
9. Challenges that make you strong
10. I'm thankful for my family :)

Andie's party was on our second day in Malaybalay City. We all had so much fun!
Although Andie didn't look too happy here. But, yes, she had a great time at her party! LOL! Will post more photos and stories SOON! (*wink*)
I've been reading a lot of articles about the benefits of investing in gold bullion for the past months already and it looks like it's the way to go when it comes to investment. Gold can be in a form of a coin or bullion which are both great for investment. If I buy bullion, the asking price as of the moment is around $1,377.50. And I'm definitely sure that the value will increase in the next few months. That is why I know that this is a great way to invest.
I can also choose to buy silver, platinum, or palladium. These precious metals are of great value too especially the platinum which has an asking price of $1,657.70. Which is a big value, right? But I think it is worth it. Knowing that the value will go up in the next few months or who knows, in the next few weeks. I love reading articles about investing in gold lately. It gives me a lot of ideas on what to invest, how to invest, and which one to prioritize. Now, I need to read more about gold IRA because this is the first time that I heard about gold 401K. Hopefully I would be able to get more ideas soon.
To my ever charming and lovable, Baby A, happy, happy birthday!
You brought laughter into our home. You made all of us very, very happy especially your Ate A who loves you dearly. Your unexpected jokes and funny words make me look forward in waking up every morning. You are our joy and inspiration. I pray that God will always guide you. May He keep you strong inspite of the challenges that you will encounter. And always, always keep you in the right path.
Baby A is 1 month old.
Baby A is 5 months old.

PLEASE don't grow up too fast. We love you so much.
I was browsing about muck boots when I remember my sister's trip to Shanghai last week. It was already winter there so she wore her boots and winter clothes.
Of course the muck boots that I was looking for were totally different from my sister's leather boots, but I can't help but remember her wardrobe then. I'm looking for something that I can use for the rainy days. Since the weather is very unpredictable these days (storms in October and raining in November to December), I really need some boots to wear during this season! I hope I get to find one soon and for the kids too.
Happiness is...

Hey, you can still catch up on the Toys R Us sale! Especially tomorrow which is a holiday!
Big Toy Sale at Toys R Us! At Alabang Town Center, Activity Area. From November 12 to 17, 2010.
This is going to be fun! (*wink*)
I was making our Christmas list a few months ago when I came across Personal Creations. They have a lot of nice things there that is nice to give out as gifts. They also have Christmas ornaments that would be nice to put on our Christmas tree. What's really nice is that the gifts are personalized not to mention affordable too. It's like this site includes all the gifts that I want to give out this Christmas.
Now, they gave me an idea to give out wedding photobooks this Christmas!
I've ordered a few copies already and was notified that these were already shipped. Now, I'm waiting for these PB's to arrived. I hope these PB's will arrive soon because I really can't wait to see it in person!
Right after Halloween, the Christmas season officialy started. Well, in the Philippines, that is. It is only in the Philippines that you get to experience a month long celebration of Christmas. And I love it!
Just last weekend, we spent a few hours having fun at our early Christmas party with my online and now offline friends. It was a riot! Overflowing prizes, loots, and food too. I wasn't able to eat that much though (well at least, I won't have to drink my ephedra diet pills, for now!). But for sure in the next few weeks, meet up with friends will be organized and it comes with eat outs! It's going to be a FUN season, I can tell. And I can't definitely WAIT! (*wink*)
Since Christmas is around the corner, I took this test just to find out...
Your Christmas is Most Like: A Very Brady Christmas |
For you, it's all about sharing times with family. Even if you all get a bit cheesy at times. |
Ooooh, I guess the test is right. Christmas is the only time that I get to spend time with my family (my Mom is in the US, my Dad and brother in Bukidnon, my other brother in Singapore and sister is traveling!) but we make sure that we spend the Christmas and New Year together as a family. And, I'm really glad.

WOW, if she gets this, it would be a dream come true. That is why instead of looking for men's running shorts for the Hubby, I was so busy looking for this online. So far, most of the online shops don't have stocks anymore. Well, it is probably a sign that I shouldn't buy it yet. Hopefully next year then. As for the Hubby's running shorts, I would get it online and who knows, I will have more budget for his running shoes. (*wink*)

Wow, I can't believe it's been 3 years since our first Christmas party with the Mommy Bloggers (now we call ourselves MBAPS). Every year, we make it a point to meet and have our Christmas party really early to make our schedules meet. And now, the family has grown after meeting more online friends through Twitter and Bebots (the group who inspired me to do digiscrapping)! We definitely had a blast!
It was also (Jody and Dicky's) Bianca's birthday!
Ate A posing beside Bianca's Cupcakes!
The party started with a prayer by the very impressive, Ate Sandy!
The kids really behaved well while Ate Sandy was leading the prayer in front.
Afterwards, there were games which were a riot! This is expected when all of the MOMS want to win prizes for their kids. LOL!
The food was good, as expected. The giant pizza c/o Jody (thanks girl!) was really yummy that I want to eat pizza again one of these days.
The kids exchanged gifts which made them really happy. But the Moms were more than happy when we played the White Elephant Game. (*grin*)
It was the most intense 30-minutes of our lives. Having to grab each other's gifts. Nope, not literally grab but well, I could say, steal each other's gifts. LOL! And here we are, everybody is happy what what they got.
We exceeded an hour at Shakey's and finished around 2PM already. It was really FUN! Moms, Dads, and the kids most especially!
It was nice seeing you again Twitter Bebots/MBAPS friends! Until our next get-together! (*wink*)
Happiness is...
1. Getting better after severe headache yesterday
2. Preparing for Andie's 2nd birthday party!
3. Twitter early Christmas party - it was a riot! LOL!
4. Coffee to start off my day

The highlight of our weekend...
Early Christmas party with Twitter/Bebots/MBAP friends! It was a riot! The kids had so much fun during games and went home super happy with so much loots! Thanks again "Tita Santas"! More photos soon! (*wink*)
