Our Saturday Movie and Wine Night

Hubby and I were supposed to go out on a date last Saturday but since we were out for 2 consecutive nights already, we decided to stay at home with the kids instead and started our tradition of movie night with wine.

We all had fun! Not to mention our "date" was very budget friendly too. We didn't have to spend a lot. The kids also had a grand time. We will definitely do this again in the next coming weekends.

Afternoon Classes Suspended in Metro Manila

I wish they announced this earlier...

MANILA, Philippines – Afternoon classes in the entire National Capital Region (NCR) have been suspended due to tropical depression “Juaning,” the Department of Education (DepEd) said Tuesday.

Dr. Elena Ruiz of the Department of Education - NCR said classes at all levels (pre-school, elementary and high school) in the region were suspended.

Ruiz also asked schools to dismiss morning classes before 12 noon.

Earlier this morning, the DepEd announced that all classes in the Bicol region and Lipa City, Batangas were suspended due to heavy rains and strong winds brought by tropical depression Juaning.

Trying Out Johnny Chow.

When my Dad arrived from the province, we planned on having dinner at Newport Mall since he hasn't seen that mall ever since it opened. My sister decided we have it at Johnny Chow.

You won't miss it for it's very unique exteriors. And especially for their chairs with photos like this:

IMG_0685

Would you believe that my little girl, Andie, got scared of this? This is probably not a good idea for kids I guess. Or she was just not in the mood for anything? That, I'm not so sure!

We took photos before the food arrived.

Since my Dad and sister ordered in advance while waiting for us, the food arrived a few minutes after we arrived. We didn't have to wait at all!

We had fresh spring rolls, crispy noodles, steamed lapu-lapu and Yang Chow fried rice. Everything was really good! Although we found it too pricey for that kind of food, especially the steamed lapu-lapu which costs us around P400. And it was small! But other than that, I would say, I highly recommend this place, for great service, good food and unique ambiance. Try it one of these days! (*wink*)

Mark & Spencer's Further Reduction Sale!

I'm sure you've heard of the end of season sales for the past 2 weeks now. And, guess what? Mark's & Spencer's is having a further reduction sale!

This is good news! A great reason to go shopping again! (*wink*)

Varekai was Awesome!

I didn't have plans on watching Cirque du Soleil's Varekai. Not until I watched KAOS. Since we liked KAOS very much, I decided that we would definitely loved Varekai too.

And boy, I was right.

Took a Shot of the Stage...

IMG_0725
Hubby and I watched Varekai with my Dad and Sister. I was so happy we got really good seats.

It was the most intense two hours I've ever had in years. The Varekai was simply amazing! If you haven't seen it, better buy your tickets now because the show will end on the 24th!

IMG_0732

The tickets were a bit expensive, but, I would say it was worth it! I'm glad I let my sister convince me to watch. Although I find the show too short and I wanted to see more stunts but I guess I will have to save up again since they are coming back to Manila on August, 2012! Yebah!

For booking assistance, customer service and general queries, call (+632) 6692222 (within Metro Manila area and international) or 180018886692 (toll free within Philippines).

Want to get a 10% Discount on Varekai?

Get the SM Advantage card and you'll get a 10% discount when buying Varekai tickets!

I wish they announced this earlier, I would definitely grab it! I would want to watch it again if I have the budget. But if you haven't, you better watch it before it ends on the 24th.

Check out my Varekai post and photos here! (*wink*)

Happy Birthday to my Best HUBBY in the World!

To the best Hubby and to the best Dada in the world, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

IMG_6782

Thank you for filling our lives with your love, laughter, and joy. You inspire me to be a better person. The kids are blessed to have you as their Dada. WE LOVE YOU so much. We hope that you always keep that in mind.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 3D

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is the sequel to Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and was released on June 29, 2011. Directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg.

We didn't have plans to watch Transformers but when my Dad arrived he invited us for dinner and since we didn't have a ride home, we joined his movie date with my sister. I'm so glad we did join them because the little girls had so much fun! It was their first time to watch in 3D and they were so curious with the 3D glasses, they wore it the entire film!

IMG_0701

I was expecting that they would sleep in the middle of the film or worst, they get very scared they would ask me to bring them out of the theatre. But good thing they liked the movie inspite of it not being too "girly". HAHA! Too bad though, Hubby wasn't able to join us. Oh well.

The movie was starred by Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro, with Peter Cullen returning as the voice of Optimus Prime and Hugo Weaving returning as the voice of Megatron.

I love, love it! Would there be another sequel after this? We'll see!

Oh Wow.

That's my initial reaction when I first saw this...

I can't help but be mesmerized by this beauty or the matching bridal sets. This captivating Diamond Wedding Set is the perfect symbol for the remembrance of your love forever. That's how OsbornesJewelers.com had described it.

The engagement ring itself holds a brilliant 1/3 ct princess cut center stone flanked by 36 round cut diamonds in beautiful pave and prong setting. I know, it's definitely WOW.

The wedding band features 23 alluring round cut diamonds perfectly pave set on gleaming 14 karat white gold. And the total diamond weight for the set is 7/8 ctw. This one is amazing!

Now, I'm wondering if I can buy this to change our wedding band and my engagement ring. Of course will have to talk to Hubby about it. I remember when we were looking for the perfect wedding band, we searched the entire mall just to look for the perfect pair. It wasn't easy, I tell you, so it would require an effort to convince him to change it into one of the Osborne Jeweler's piece. But if he says yes, it would be a great decision since jewelries such as these are now investments. And I'm certain that we would keep it while the value goes up. These are the things that would make women really happy because owning one would be something and if they plan to sell it, it would still have a good resale value.

My Girls will Love These...

Skip Hop Bags, that is!

I've been eyeing these cute bags for weeks now. Ever since my friend shared the multiply site on where to order, I've been thinking of getting two for my girls. But I don't have the budget yet so maybe I can give these as Christmas gifts? Oh, we'll see about that!

Interested? Check out these multiply sites that offer Skip Hop Bags:

Jannah's 8th Birthday and Reunion

Everytime we go home to Bukidnon, our schedule and itinerary would always be tight. After all, it's the only time we get to bond with cousins and relatives, right? We were also timely since it was Jannah's advance birthday celebration too! The kids and I were ecstatic because we knew that they will play with their second cousins at the party.

True enough, everyone had a grand time. It was also an impromptu reunion of the relatives since almost everyone was there!

The food was great, the updates and the stories we told each other were even greater. It was definitely a night to remember.

We were so glad we went home for the wedding and reunion. Our 5Day/4Night vacation was something that we want to do every year but we'll see if time and budget would permit. Because I would say that it was all worth it!

How to be Organized when you Live with 5 and 2 year olds?

Having a 5 year old and a 2 year old means only one thing - disorganized household! Toys are just everywhere around the house and the papers are all over. I couldn't think of ways on how to organized everything from crayons to pencils to handbags to puzzles. As much as I would ask my kids to "pack away" after playing, I still feel that the house is in chaos.

Until we finally came up with something. We decided to buy a sturday cabinet for the kids' mess alone. I wanted a couple of Slat Wall Fixtures which I saw at SiegelDisplay.com a couple of days ago.

It looks sturdy and the design is also nice but since we were looking for something to hide the mess, we opted to buy the drawers instead. Since I already saw these nice wall fixtures, I promise to save up for these because the stuffed toys and the dolls would be really nice here. Not to mention the books and artworks!

I have a long way to get really organized when it comes to the kids' stuff. But at least I know for sure that I'm slowly getting there.

My First Massage at NEO Day Spa

Thanks to CashCash Pinoy vouchers, I was able to avail the NEO Day Spa's 72% OFF. For only P850 I got a Luxury Crystal Facial + a Customize Body Massage at luxury Neo Day Spa a couple of weeks ago.

IMG_0676

Who wouldn't be able to resist this!?

Neo Day Spa aspires to heal the body, calm the mind and renew the spirit. Their holistic service starts at the door. Stepping inside, you will be enveloped in soft lights beneath minimalist shades. Their soft white and black walls are accentuated by green bamboo stalks that span from floor to ceiling. Truly, this is a modern zen.

The first part of your journey to relaxation is the Crystal Facial. That's the newest addition to the luxury facial menu. This innovative treatment from Biodroga uses rock crystal wands which are applied to acupressure points during the facial. The wands, together with the drainage techniques used, helps to detoxify and purify the skin. Your face will be the image of serenity.

The second half of your journey in zen is the body massage. The key word to their massage is customization. Customers can choose the hardness of the pressure from their attendants. The spaĆ¢€™s masseurs are truly accommodating and friendly. It is famed that their massages are so relaxing; you'll be put to sleep. You can also choose what essential oil will be used to suit your personality and mood.

I wasn't able to. So I grabbed this voucher as soon as I came across CashCash Pinoy. And I had no regrets because I had a nice massage. The place was so quiet and clean. I would love to go back there again. That is if they're going to have another promo. (*wink*)

Hubby Got a New Phone!

It took him months before he was able to decide which one to get. He had to read reviews online and check who has the best rated palm pre. I would say the gadgets from TheSource.ca were all interesting. He found it hard to choose which one to get. Thanks to the online reviews and testimonials, he finally got a new phone.

He's been using his Samsung Omnia for almost 3 years now and I've been convincing him to get a new phone! He was adamant that he doesn't want to change his phone. But it's been showing signs that he needs to change ASAP. So finally when this came out, he was finally convinced that it's time to change.

It's the Samsung Galaxy SII that was just recently launched by Samsung. I would say it was a good buy and Hubby liked it very much. I'm pretty sure that this phone would last for years.

Kevin and Kristine's Wedding Reception

Right after the beautiful wedding ceremony of Kevin and Kristine, we immediately went to Roadhouse Steakhouse in Valencia, Bukidnon for the reception.

Our Food Trip over the Weekend

My Dad is here again! And that only means one thing - Food Trip! Every time my Dad comes home in Manila, we would always EAT out. We would explore different restaurants that sometimes, I had to get diet pill that works to get back to my old weight. I know it sounds exaggerated but believe, we really eat a LOT. Just like this weekend, my Dad arrived last Saturday and we met up to have dinner at Resorts World (will blog about more soon!) and then we had another sumptious lunch before watching VAREKAI yesterday (will also blog about it soon!). So there, I need something to drink to maintain my weight or else, my clothes particularly my pants would never fit again.

Inspite of it though, I'm thankful. I'm thankful for the food trip and the bonding time that we had over the weekend. It was a tiring yet fun-filled weekend for the whole family!

Kevin and Kristine's Wedding at the Monastery of Transfiguration

This is the reason why we came all the way from Manila to attend my cousin Kevin and Kristine's wedding at the Monastery of Transfiguration in Bukidnon. My girls were chosen as flower girls and I was so giddy with excitement since it was Andie's first time! The girls were having the time of their lives too!

IMG_0709 IMG_0719

It was a very memorable event for my cousins and for the rest of the clan because we were together once again after so many years of not seeing each other. Some relatives from New Jersey came home for this very special event.
