Congrats, my Baby!

Well, technically she is not a baby anymore ever since she transferred to the big school. But still, she will always be my baby!

She's moving up to grade school for the next school year. I'm so proud of you little girl!

We LOVE you!

Thank you, Ninang Mage!

I was supposed to pick up these loots from my friend's Mom but my little girl was hospitalized and we got so busy, until I finally had time to drop by last weekend. My friend Mage is based in the US and sent these loots for my girls.

Can you see those huge smiles on their faces!?

Thank you so much, mare! I miss you more!

The Philippines: The Best Beaches and Resorts

U.S. beaches paint an aesthetically pleasing picture for tourists. Beguiled by the soft sand, refreshing seawater and summer-time activities, no American beach can replicate the picture-perfect beaches the island of the Philippines can offer. Serving as the backdrop for television commercials and movies, these white-sand covered beaches offer plush, cobalt-drawn skies and enough clear, blue water to leave you amazed. From small, private beach resorts to spa resorts, the Philippines has some of the best summer-time getaways for interested travelers. Once you are done looking through this list, check out Best Travel Blogs for more great vacation tips.

Amanpulo, Pamalican

Coconut trees pepper the beach, while white sand blankets the shoreline. The water is painted with a hue of baby-blue colors that stretch on for miles. The sea, sand and surroundings paint an opulent picture for travelers seeking a private getaway. Offering complimentary water sports equipment that ranges from kayaks, boogie boards to windsurfing, Amanpulo has everything a traveler could want.

Each guest will be attended by some of the best hospitality managers around, being served chilled drinks, towels and snacks while enjoying the sunny beaches and clear ocean water. With scheduled barbeques and dances, sunset gazing and starlight dinners, Amanpulo offers the perfect escape from the less-than-stellar American beaches.

Pagudpud

Located off the Pasaleng Bay, Pagudpud is coveted by surfers. Prized for its strong waves and winds, Pagudpud is a surfers' paradise often compared to the equally strong waves found on the beaches of Hawaii. With miles of white sand and clear oceans, Pagudpud offers a great getaway for individuals more interested in water sports equipment such as surfing and boogie boarding than swimming. If you come to Pagudpud, prepare for some adrenaline-filled activities.

Boracay Island

If white sandy beaches, clear oceans and a popular nightlife appeals to your interest, Boracay is the place to be. Considered one of the best travel locations in the Philippines, Boracay offers several opulent choices, from luxury hotel suites to exotic day spas for guests to enjoy.

Travelers can find everything they need on the Island, from gourmet restaurants to water sports equipment rental stations. With plenty of nightlife action, Boracay is the perfect destination to experience the Filipino club scene from the dozens of locations that sprinkle the island.

Eskaya Beach Resort and Spa

Okay, maybe private beaches and popular island destinations is not what you’re looking for. Eskaya Beach Resort and Spa may be able to help quell your desires. Offering a private hideout, Eskaya Beach Resort and Spa aims to pamper its guest with the dozens of spa amenities. From mud baths, spas to pools overlooking the ocean, Eskaya Beach Resort and Spa provides the perfect escape for someone looking to be spoiled.

Nestled among tropical gardens, the resort is just minutes from the beach, providing the perfect location for both a beach and private resort experience. For individuals interested in a smaller resort, Eskaya Beach Resort only offers 15 private villas, making for the perfect intimate location.

Plantation Bay

With private estates overlooking the ocean, guest can dive straight into the water right from their balconies. While beach-goers can enjoy the ottomans that stretch the beach, each paired its own set of coconut hammocks. With the one of the largest privately-owned waterways, Plantation Bay serves as the perfect backdrop for a summer-island escape.

With dozens of private estates, each comes fully furnished with television sets, oil paintings and home amenities that guests can relax and enjoy. With coconut trees scattering the beach and white sand enveloping the shoreline, Plantation Bay delivers some of the best experiences.

Each of these beach-island resorts offers something different for travelers. Whether it be a private escape to a public offering of Filipino tourism, individuals can rest assured that the Philippines has a beach just for them. With so much diversity, picture-perfect beaches and popular tourist destinations, it’s difficult to pass on the Philippines as your destination of choice.

...of our recent trip to Surigao.

We love it there! Will post more about it soon! (*wink*)

Bonding with my Sister at Cafe Mary Grace

It's been weeks since I've craved for a good pasta so when my sister and I went to The Spa, The Fort to celebrate her birthday, I insisted on having early dinner at Cafe Mary Grace, Serendra.

It was still early for dinner so the place wasn't too packed. There were two available tables! Yebah! Although we found the restaurant too chilly, Cafe Mary Grace is still the coziest resto so far.

We had our all time favorite pasta!

Fresh Tomato and Herb Pasta

Spaghetti noodles with a homemade sauce of tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, herbs, and extra-virgin olive oil, topped with premium quezo de bola

Pasta Vongole

Fresh clams, minced garlic, extra-virgin olive oil, and white wine, simply delicious!

Of course, I also had their famous hot chocolate to cap the meal. Oh so yummy!

Cafe Mary Grace is located at Serendra, Bonifacio Global City.

Ate A's Simple Party at Home

We didn't really have plans on having a party at home but the Lola insisted and promised she will cook for her Apo's 6th birthday. So we decided to invite 2 of her close friends in Pre-School and my friend Ercs and her babies.

My Mom brought paper plates, paper cups and table napkins from the US. I ordered midi wooden stools as give aways.

While I was at work, I asked the Yaya to transform the little girl's room into a playroom! Look!

These are one of those days when I wanted a garden or a lawn where the kids can play. A conopy swings at PorchSwings.com would be nice also on this special occassion, but with a small garden we got in the house, I guess for now, it really isn't possible. So the kids will have to enjoy the "playroom". At least we can turn on the airconditioner!

The kids started the "party" by watching "Tangled". They didn't finish the movie because everyone was so giddy and excited. They went down and started painting. When they were done, it was time to eat! After eating they played again and then it was time to blew the candle...

Yes, it was a very simple party but I felt that the Ate had so much fun and was so surprised to her friends.

To all the guests, thank you so much for coming! You made Ate A's day really special. And thank you for the gifts too!

Girl Bonding and Food Trip at Green Tomato

Before the year 2011 ended, I made sure that I meet my friends to celebrate the year! One of my get together with my friends Ercs and Farrah was at Green Tomato in Shangrila.

I didn't expect much though because the restaurant didn't look that attractive. But I was wrong. The food was great, I'm actually craving for it now.

We had...

Crabstick Salad

This salad is made of crabstick, seaweed, egg strips, and honey mustard dressing. It was so tasty, I loved it to bits!

Of course, this pasta has chicken, mushrooms, bacon, cream and penne as the pasta. I'm not into too much cream in a pasta but this one is good. Too salty for me though.

The best among all our orders was the Four Cheese Pizza made of cheddar, mozzarella, feta, Parmesan and pesto. First to ever get to try pesto in a pizza and I loved it!

The service was also good considering that we were there on a peak hour. I'm definitely going back to Green Tomato again one of these days. Oh, wait, how about later!? Hmmm, we'll see!

Green Tomato Restaurant is located at 6/Lvl. Shangri-la Plaza Mall, EDSA cor. Shaw. Blvd.

Because I'm a Bookworm...

I got a Kindle Touch!

I've been thinking of getting one ever since I got hooked on reading ebooks. Since I'm getting migraine when I read on my phone, I decided to buy a kindle which has an e-Ink feature and anti glare.

So I'm hoping that I would say goodbye to migraines now! We'll see!
